What the actual @#$%&!.

I'm shocked about Stocker.
Maybe we will rookie him.

"“Liam gave great effort during his four seasons here and while he was not able to solidify his place in the side this year, his capacity to continue to work hard was a testament to him,” Austin said.

“Although Will was only on the list for a short period of time, his efforts to earn a place in the side to play two games was a result of his work ethic.

“We thank both players for their contributions during their time at the Club and wish them all the best for the future.”

He was in and out all year in a defence that was decimated

His last game against Pies was putrid to say the least

I think like most he was another in a long line of gunners we have had at Carlton

Always gunner be good

It will be interesting if he gets picked up by someone else and turns into the gun we all thought he would

Austin selected Hayes in the midseason draft with a long term view, well, that's what he said.

I'm not surprised.

IMO, players like Stocker and Silvagni seem to lack the pace required at AFL level.

For Stocker, he is an inside mid or nothing given Boyd's meteoric rise in the backline.

SOS didnt have too much luck with his First round mids

Pick 6 SPS
Pick 19 Stocker

Pick 3 Dow
Pick 10 OBrien
Pick 5 Setterfield
Pick 23 Cuningham
Pick 17 Kemp
Pick 19 Philp

Oh my.

Pick 8 for Saad makes a lot of sense, if you can't pick 'em ... and SOS overlooked, Carlton fan, Saad as a Rookie back in the day.

Stocker has a poor attitude and had most players off side. Overweight. Voss tried everything but he wouldn't change. Waste of talent

Something tells me he's tried his hand at this caper and it a) was harder than he thought and b) he doesn't have the desire to get the most out of his talent.

And that's fine. An exit interview would have outlined what the club expected going forward and if they thought he had the commitment. Hopefully he can enjoy the game again somewhere else.

As for the being liked or disliked...footy clubs don't exactly work like that. Some players will be mates, others won't. Same as any workplace. But an employer needs buy-in and a return on investment. I don't think he ticked either box.

Writing is on the wall for those who don't impress over the next 2 years, first round draft pick or not.

Fogarty was a first round pick for Geelong.

Just goes to show that Draft is no guarantee after the first 2 picks.

I expect to read the name Fogarty delisted next, followed by Curnow who might be rerookied if rumours are true he will play on next year.

Stocker appears to be different, and for Carlton it wasn't "Good different" otherwise he'd have the nicname Aldi.

Surely winning the Coleman gets you a spot on the main list…

Tell you what, I'd probably refuse to go to Carlton if I was selected in the mid year draft as well

Fogarty , Plowman , Setterfield and Obrien remain on our list yet we delist Liam Stocker.
Let that sink in
