The 'glass jaw' of the AFL is a joke but nothing I wouldn't expect from a glorified administrator and his lackey.

Lets remember Andrew as CEO, unlike most major sports in the world, earns a multiple not a fraction of the top players. He has presided over an administration that seems predicated on the belief that it is bureaucrats and officials who make the game.

That kids get up on a Saturday morning and 'puchase' the brand that is AFL as if it was a soft drink or a packet of chips.

He has presided over a competition that has more than half the clubs on life support, that sees the successful clubs with the most money dominating the competition and has sentenced the competition to propping up 2 fledgling clubs that were given concessions out of all proportion to their contribution to the league.

Yes there's been a big increase in revenue for the TV rights. Wow, who would have seen that coming??

Given how the AFL used the fixture to 'punish' Carlton's valid plan to have a third stadium for 10-25K crowds, its pretty gob smacking that the same AFL allowed a strong club in Hawthorn, to dominate a new market in Tasmania, then act all surprised when poor old North wants to head down there but its too late.

But hey, lets not twitter or abuse officials. Andrews reasoing is that that sort of criticism stops people becoming umpires.

Great theory, but.....

If that applied, then how the hell do we even have umpires given the abuse we have all witnessed over the years at suburban footy grounds?

But once again, shhhhh, lets not criticise his highness.

Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.

Didn't think it was even reportable. A nothing incident until the press beat up. AFL is a joke.

The sook made Connors apologise but he was correct about Fraser ..... and he was probably right on the second bit as well

Judd's manager Paul Connors has lashed out at the AFL and match review panel boss Mark Fraser over his comments made before the tribunal hearing for Judd's controversial "chicken wing" tackle on North Melbourne's Leigh Adams.
In explaining why the panel had decided to refer Judd's case directly to the tribunal, Fraser said he thought the "chicken wing" grapple was of an "unsportsmanlike in nature" and had the potential to "bring the game into disrepute".

Just makes this whole degrading experience even more sickening.

I wonder if the bloke who pops Adams shoulder this week out gets 4 weeks.
Playing injured and they wonder why his @#$%&! shoulder hurts him.
Try twisting or chicken winging Jonathan Brown. Get it?
Beggers belief. What about the Nick Reiwoldt shoulder bumps by Chris Scott and others.

This and the Williams umpie incident will make me sick in th stomach till the day I die.
Its just one of those things that is inhumane to me. A vicious attack on an innocent man's character imo.

At least Paul Connors came out and defended Judd. I am a bit disappointed that the club didnt make a statement at least in support of Judd and have a crack at the media for the 4 day circus. Brad Scott had a crack at the AFL and the tribunal today, wish our club had the balls to do something similar.
Seems we just roll over and cop it.

Kezza, Ratts did come out in support of Judd on the Wednesday.

How about Brayshaw last night re the medical report on AJ - he felt Carlton over stated on his injury and the fact that we named AJ was a miracle. This from the club that had Juddy selling Adams arm after he pinched it off him. :garthp:

FMD!! When Chris Judd's career is over, not one player will have missed a game through injury because of his action. Not a bone will have been broken nor flesh so much as scratched.

Hall, Matthews etc etc have cowardly committed, what would be regarded as serious crimes that carry gaol time had they happened outside the football field, yet these bozos feel the need to tut tut Chris Judd?

The best footy show was BTG when it was on Saturday night. But they went and wrecked it. Shame.

Barry Hall was and is a thug.
- Macfarlane - broke his jaw in three places - never played AFL again
- Matt Maguire punched in stomach "off the ball" got off.
- Staker - He king hit an unaware Staker
- Wakelin - tried to punch his lights out - missed

Sydney co-captain Brett Kirk later claimed that Hall's habit of hitting opposition players off the ball is a "bad habit" - Off the ball being the critical point here.

All Judds incidents happened in self defence - elbow and "eye gouge" (Judd was reacting to something in the pack) or in the pressure points incident he was focusing on his team mate getting choked out and trying to stop it. What should he have done clocked the bloke to make him let go?

The exception being last Friday night but the ball was still live and in the vicinity. However Judd likely grabbed the arm and was focused on what Carazzo was doing and waiting for the ball to come out. He focus was not was happening with the arm.

Sure he has made the wrong choices in the heat of the moment, but he hasn't set out to "take out" a player.

Leigh Matthews was a thug when thuggery was tolerated, when payback was expected. This still existed to a degree when Diesel played though did his own retaliation, rather than it being done by an enforcer type. Matthews is ashamed of what he did to Bruns, whereas Barry excuses himself as having "brain snaps".

While Wellingham can now be expected to cop some extra attention every time he steps on the footy field against us no one is going to go up an whack him one for Simpson.

Judd is not perfect but he certainly is not vicious nor a thug.

How many games has Judd played - around 250?

How many times has he been in the shit with the MRP/tribunal - around 5?

There you go.
