Interesting thing with Voss is he may have been an inexperenced head coach for a few years and yet with that his CV is not long at Teagues.

Not sure what puts him above Teague to be honest.

Good!

Be very happy if Ratten was coach. He's the only coach that did any good with us since 2000 getting us from total basket case to 3 finals series with not a great side.

I'm down to Ratten or Teague. Teague wins a few more then I want him. Win the next two and he's 5-2 and you'd look seriously at him.

I’m not sure why Voss is being rated so highly. He’s been available for years now and hasn’t attracted much interest in the past. I don’t really see being an assistant under Hinkley for the past few years as particularly noteworthy either. It’s not as if the power have had any meaningful success in the past few years

Exactly... Also not sure about all the talk from fans behind the keyboard getting all frenzied if they dont get their man.

The club will give Teague every chance to see what he can do over the rest of the season but obviously they need to cover all other options surely.

Because true blue Vossy supported us as a kid.

I heard we'll be interviewing Goddard tomorrow.

Same. I'd like to say I'd take a break from footy if he got the job, but the truth is I watched all our free-to-air games during the Madhouse era so I'm a lost cause.

Same, and I was even happy (at the start) when we got Mick. :donk:

But, Ross, yeah, nah, I'll be out if he has the keys I think.

Voss I respected immensely as a footballer, just not sure if he's the brightest bloke though.

I'm on Teague for now. He's been a breath of fresh air, both on field & his way with the media.

Weirdly, I also wouldn't mind if we spoke to Hinkley, not sure why.

I don't mind us speaking to him, as long as what we say includes "@#$%&! off you old tosser".

Why don’t we just hold off the decision until the end of 2020? If we like Teague but aren’t convinced yet, we could just continue the caretaker situation into next year. At the moment he’s going as well as you could hope from any new coach, so give him a full season with a full pre season to prepare. Gives us the best of both worlds. The chance to see what Teague can do, while maintaining the opportunity to go after an experienced coach in 12 months if it doesn’t work out.

At this stage I’m more excited by the prospect of Teague coaching than anyone else. Clarkson would obviously be unbelievable, but there’s no guarantee he will do any better than Teague and it will attract a whole heap of pressure. It’s a big no to Scott, Lyon, a softer no to Voss. A maybe to Ratts but it’s a bit of a risky move having sacked him already. Would hate to be in a position where we have to sack him again.

Looking back at the last 20 years, the only coaches I can think of who have won premierships at a second club are Malthouse and Matthews. Admittedly Matthews won 3, but still, it shows that 16 out of the last 20 premierships have been won by first time/untried coaches. What’s to say Teague isn’t the next Clarkson, Simpson, Hardwick etc

We can't afford to waste any year in AFL, we either believe that Teague will take this team to the big dance or not.

I personally like Teague as a coach and more importantly his philosophy on how the game should be played. Ultra defensive coaches haven't won a premiership since 2005 and if you look further over the decades, it shows that it is a very rare for an ultra defensive team wins premierships, it's all about balance and Teague has shown in the few games that he has been in charge that he is getting the balance more to where it should be to play finals football.
