Ffs... 2nd year running we're going to be derailed by injuries. And some familiar faces amongst it. So frustrating. It's almost critical mass. May well be final straw. @#$%&!

Another hammy.

Yeah the fitness guy is doing a great job

He specialises in hammies

But no all clubs get injuries

Jeezus. At least Marchbank is back to cover his role I guess. Shame Boyd isn’t available yet

Voss and the players have done well but it's time the fitness team get the blowtorch on their arses

I know they upped training over summer and expected injuries but the number of calf and hammy injuries esp recently where obviously they haven't managed the players sufficiently is completely negligible.

Concerning with his history. Did a hammy last year and ended up having surgery on it from memory?

Too many soft players who have chosen to play footy rather than basketball, or car racing.

i know right. it's infuriating that each year we lose players that we really don't need to use.

back in 2020 i got told by a mate who's a lion's physio ... that we're implementing 20 year old protocols for hammy's and calves etc ... 2 seasons in a row have been derailed by soft tissue injuries - so it's safe to say the same people are looking after and managing our guys.

why are carlton so slow to evolve?

Russell should have been gotten rid of years ago. Last year and now this year. Injuries to multiple good players week after week.

Good teams, get players back and manage players to be fit this time of the year.

Not us. When it doesnt work after years, we need to try something new.

Its good business.

While the injuries are frustrating, it is interesting to note that these are coinciding with what looks like massively increased fitness levels from early in the season. We are running teams off their feet and outnumbering them at every contest. We destroyed Collingwood at their own game of swarming and running in waves. Our defensive pressure was absolutely manic all over the field. Same against Port.

Interstingly, early in the season I thought we always looked lethargic. Even when we were winning games, we just looked gassed the whole time. I would love to know what we are doing with training loads, and the correlation to our energy and endurance on field as well as the correlation to soft tissue injuries. I suspect there may be an element of taking the good (superior fitness and ability to run out games) with the bad (soft tissue injuries). Obviously though, the goal for the high performance team is achieving maximum fitness without the soft tissue injuries. Perhaps they've just pushed it a bit too hard

I'll take that.

Its an even contribution, and we have enough class for someone to take up the slack for Cerra's absence.

Jack Martin credits his wife for getting over his calf injuries. She pushed him to travel interstate to see different experts

Good on her for helping him.

Didn't he have a calf injury two weeks ago?

Not to disrupt the woe is us theme but without even thinking about it muc, didn’t the Cats just lose Hawkins & Blicavs, on top of Cam Guthrie, and Danger, Cameron & Duncan have also been out and/or playing injured this season.
And the Tigers lost Martin, Cotchin & Grimes on top of Lynch and in/out Prestia.
The Saints have had lots of injuries for large chunks of the year and Collingwood had key players out earlier in the season. Not to mention last year’s grand finalists Sydney missing Rampe and both McCartins for much of the year.
