What is the gameplan???

StKilda finished 4th last year and everyone could see their gameplan.... maybe it wasnt pretty but you can see what they were doing...

What is the gameplan???

Surely a great strategic general like Belisarius was hundreds of years ago would be capable of explaining what were attempting to do...

Remember... if things continue like this... we will have the 'Nika Riots' on our hands...

BLUES! BLUES! BLUES! BLUES!

For those of you who dont know it... there used to be a favourite sport in Constantinople at the famous Hyppodrome...

Abit of Argy bargy and the sport ended up with a massive riot between the Blues and the Greens... it ended up in thousands being klilled through the city... and the Byzabntine Emperor called upon Belisarius to put the riots down... the Emperor was a Blues fan for the record...

"Nika" means " to win " in Greek...

But whats the gameplan???

You already used the Blues and Greens reference in the other Ratts is a dud thread by the way. Another example of how we are just going around and around in circles I guess

Who can handle the pressure.

Am i on the process board????

I believe we should bring in the best available.
I do not believe that we should have a coach who has no coaching experience in the system to teach a young side.

If i was in charge i might even appoint my mate Barry......

But i would hope that that is not how we go about choosing a coach.... i would hope in this day and age we assess what is out there.. and bring in the best possible person as coach.
Clearly that is not Ratts!!!... great Carlton guy ... but hey!!!!

Now as in gameplan ive missed it...

Explain it me....or tell me what page its on...

i need to know...

No deflecting....

More deflection. You must have a coach and gameplan you admire...surely.

Its a reflection on whats going out on the field and whats likely to follow Belisarius .....

see.. that was a while ago....

... and we still dont have a gameplan...
cant kick out... (get army to kick out)
cant distribute the ball.. (get army to distribute the ball)
cant get fev clear
judd is one on three...
cant block and make space
cant kick into space or to position..

following?

lots of things are deja vu.. including you not being capable of concisely telling us what were doing out there...

Belisarius i like plenty of coaches.......

but thats not what this is about....

is this about ratts being a good coach or not.. or who i admire???

If you go back to when Ratts was appointed i had missgivings about the process..
I wasnt happy with the extention cos he had done not much to warrant it so early.

Now 2 years on we dont have a definitive gameplan...questions need to be asked about a heap.

Bow if Ratts with his very limited experience and knowhow can turn it around for us.. id be happy to shut up and jump on board.

Sorry if i believe we have made a heap of mistakes over the last decade or so.. and i have become cynical.

BUT i GENUINELY believe clubs can fall away because of the bad choices they make.

What im saying that so far i have seen nothing to alleviate my fears about the appointment..

The process...was wrong... his experience wasnt up to scratch.. and... what has transpired on the footy field week after week.

There are a few who get the most out of their list and theyre obvious....

Careful you didn't want Army to be a tagger either remember, because you wanted him running out of the backline  .

So Fev never gets clear?
Judd is always one on three?
We never block and make space?
We can't ever kick into space or to position?
Our kickouts never work?
Army distributes the ball a great deal does he?
Army kicks out a lot does he?

How the bloody hell have we won a game

Fair dinkum you are a drama queen

You have some legitimate concerns, but you have worked yourself up into a frenzy.

But you must have one you like.

These obvious ones they always get the best out of their lists. They have never had their gameplans questioned? They have never made tactical mistakes and/or been outcoached on matchday?

You can't get past the process.

Im not in a frenzy... i love debate...

and yes i do have concerns and yes they are deliberate.

We will win games cos we have a group of players with talent...compared to other teams...

How good we get is totally dependant on what we do with them....

im oretty sick of excuses...

i follow the footy to escape.,.. i dont need to have to escape from my escape....

year in... year out.....

excuses....
excuses....
excuses....
the time for excuses to stop is now....and if i saw improvement in some of our glaring deficiencies id be happy.... but i dont .....

I think of Richmond....

25 years of darkness to one of the big three at the time...

It wasnt Essendon*.. it was Richmond...

and now theyre a club that makes one poor decision after another...

Wallace
Miller
Cousins

Baby Tigers.....

Its about whether you have the best people for the jobs or not...

the cream rises to the top.

Ratts is not cream in coaching terms.

I love Ratts the footballer of the nineties...but he was not a memorable captain or a coach..

Jeepers are hearing 44 pages of Synbad rant and witch hunt Ratts .....what happens when you get rid of Ratts who is next on your hit list

After reading your posts i am wondering how we won a game ...how the hell did we beat the Bulldogs who are entrenched in 3rd ... we shouldnt have got so close to the Saints ... we shouldnt have beaten Collingwood or Brisbane ....

I think the Blues should replay all the matches we won so we can see if we really did win them... and why are we even in the 8 we should be fighting the Demons for our 4th wooden spoon as we obviously have a inept coach and dud draft picks

Let's remember, St Kilda were copping heaps of crap off their supporters last year. As a matter of fact, they were 7/7 with a percentage of 97.31 at this point.

If we finish with 13 wins and a percentage of 110.00 (Like St Kilda did) will we have have exceeded expectations?
Will Ratts have performed well?

Badman here's a question or two for you.

Has CFC done anything right since the start of 2008.

We have all read your negatives over and over.

What are the positives?

Cheer me up.

Of course we have done something right....but its not about doing something right.. its about doing alot of things right...as many as possible...especially the important things.

coac choices... development...

BV.. yes the stkilda supporters may have been spewing but they could recognise the gameplan... and they did finish top 4 with what i believe is not a fantastic list....

Lyon has them playing to their strengths and as a group.

Same last year.....

not a bad coach i reckon.... to be capable of wallpapering so many defficiencies.

Lyon is what a coach is all about.

Ratts has proven nothing.....

Nice Judd side step there, but what are some of the things the club has done right?

Now I know this is abit like asking Little Johnny to say 'sorry' but see if you can list some of the good things.

The coach that you admire said this after they lost another game early last season. He hadn't proven anything either as a senior coach.

“I ask the question in the box – ‘do we train that’ and the response is ‘no’, and I ask the players ‘do we train that’ and they say no. But sometimes the pressure of games and pressure of the opposition make you do funny things – which we want to eradicate if we’re going to be a top team.”

Could that... just maybe apply to us as well?

Look its obvious what the game plan is...to me anyway. Let me just illustrate our kick out plan firstly and we can proceed from there...

We kick to contests from kickouts making sure we take up every second possible to prepare for this. The reason we do this is that we figure we must have a better chance in a contested situation than a pre-planned players running into space situation. We havent changed it yet cuz with time it will turn around and we will get it right just like the Geelongs and Stkildas of the world got their plan right...right???
