This spreasheet was compiled by Stephen Williamson who has been extremely generous in allowing this to be available to the carlton supporting community.

I imagine it would have taken thousands of hours of research to compile this spreadsheet (and this is a stripped down version of the original), Stephen is the epitomy of a true blue (I think a nomination for Life Membership of the club should be in order).

Here, Here! Without Stephen's work the Blueseum would only be a part of what it is today - and arguments would be a lot harder to solve (Many of the books on Carlton and footy disagree with each other - we have chosen to use SW's work). Basically, Stephen's work underpins the Blueseum and all of the debut, game, milestones etc. are sourced from his work.

Good to see you finally got the file in the Gallery though, J - what did you have to remove to make it work?

Stephen was the chap at the bbq yeah?

Top bloke to talk to as well. Lives and breathes Carlton - was able to pin point spots on the hallowed turf at Princes Park where stuff had happened forty-odd years ago

Witnessing Stephen and Pat's Fitztrick reminisce was something very special.

Works fine for me.

Importantly, this spreadsheet should allow others to help out in relation to:

* Debuts - check out the Debuts page under Players. Am about half way done but need assistance.
* Other Milestones - last games. Set up the game reviews like you see in say 2006 and put in other milestones.
* Players from victoria - have set up pages for all interstate clubs but perhaps pages could be set up with links to 'State and Club' recognising country Victorian towns that have contributed to the Mighty Blues.

I could scan some for the Blueseum if anyone's interested. Unfortunately given that I was around 7 when I got them, I no longer have the whole set

Cool. I love memorabilia like that.

How many are there, and which players are featured?

As far as I can remember, the original set featured the entire senior list. As I said, I don't have the lot any more, and I haven't looked at the cards for a long while but pretty sure I still have most of the key players (Buzz, the Dom, Doull, etc.)

Nice. Put 'em in a safe spot.

I have the 2006 edition of the Carlton bible, the 10 commandments were:

1) Thou shalt not make a profit
2) Thou shalt not improve revenue
3) Thou shalt not sack the CEO
4) Thou shalt not sack the coach
5) Thou shalt not promote the assistant coach
6) Thou shalt not win more than 4 games
7) Thou shalt not sign required players before the trade week
8) Thou shalt not maintain the confidentialiy of board discussions
9) Thou shalt not effectively communicate a future plan
10) Thou shalt not make a hard decision

I found the Bible on Bluemuseum by accident, before I saw this post.

He has done a brillaint job on that. The amount of info is amazing.

Actually found something that I have wondered about.
My uncle Paul Cameron played for South Melbourne 1926-27 , and then Carlton in 1928.

I knew he was 5 '2" tall, but this shows he weighed 9 Stone.
That is ridiculous for a VFL player.

He ended up as Captain coach of Berrigan, and won a premership.
I did have some info on him from The Sporting Globe, but have lost it.

..

Fascinating stuff, tcblue, please feel free to add 'what he did after' to the site. After all, its not just paying homage to the Club but all 1097 Blues (VFL/AFL era) that it's all about.

Any chance of a picture of him, even in civvies?

When you think of the ingredients in terms of people behind the Blueseum it's pretty impressive:

* Unofficial Club Historian / Carlton Historical Committee - WillowBlue
* One of Australia's foremost footy card collectors - dgreen2
* 100 manic volunteers....

I dont know much more unfortunately at the moment.
He was my mothers brother, and I didnt know until I started on the stats that he had played for Carlton.

I remember him as an older man of course, and I have his cup from
the Berrigan premiership.
I lost the info from the Sporting Globe, but they tell me you can get
these at the library in town.
I was 5ft 6"", and about 9 1/2 stone playing footy, and I thought that was small.

Just to let you guys know, I will be in Beijing for a week from tomorrow with very limited internet access.

Any tech or related questions will have to wait until after the 23rd.

Hope the Blueseum doesn't crash this week.

huí tóu jiàn!

There have been a few exciting things happening at the Blueseum lately.

We have had some relatives of ex-players and ex-players themselves recently updating parts of the site. Maurie Sankey's autograph has been found, look out for a heartwarming story appearing on the CFC site soon.

We should also have some new volunteer technical help as well that will help remove some of the quirks from the software in particular the picture gallery and forum section.

As far as I know there is only one quirk in the Blueseum. 8)

Over the next few days I am going to be doing an 'audit' of all the player profile pages to see which ones still remain without a picture.

If anyone adds a picture to a player profile in the next few days could you let me know which page?

Thanks.

Good stuff Jars. Would be nice to get a three-dimensional Blueseum at the club one day as well.
