Hawks have Mitchell ready to accede the mantle and
A. Russell moving was an interesting move to us was a significant sign.

Yep, reckon it'll be Teague or Clarkson.

Clarkson would be the only one I'd prefer over Teague right now.

And yes I still hate the little flower.

Teague has done everything we could have asked as supporters.

The boys are playing for him.

Can’t be ruled out

Teague is doing a lot right.
I’d still say it’s 40-60 against him.
He could flip that in the coming weeks if:

A) we beat Gold Coast as we would be expected to do. This is a game we would typically lose so if Teague can make sure we play to our best, that would be a good start.

B) win one of the next 3 (Adelaide, WCE, Richmond, all in Melbourne)
This would elevate him to favouritism.

C) win another match after that (against StK and Geelong) giving us 7 for the season
This would make it extremely difficult to pick anyone else.

Clarkson is done, he’s another Pagan or Malthouse too old for the new generation.
Zero relatability to young players, why he hasn’t recruited any since he lucked out with buddy, roughy, Hodge, Lewis when he was learning the caper.
Would not be able to work with our list profile, complete mismatch at Carlton for many reasons.

Brad Johnson and Dermott were just talking up Peter Sumich in their post-game show.

Dermott went on a wannabe important statement mode and said if you're looking for the next Alastair Clarkson then you're looking for someone who hasn't been appointed a full-time AFL coach.

What about this as a left field option

Teague head coach

Alan Richardson Director of Coaching (assuming he's available and interested)

Alan Richardson could easily have been coach at Carlton during the Ratten Malthouse days but IIRC, Mick moved him on???

Thoughts

But realistically and thankfully ... a snow flakes chance in hell.

If anyone interviews Sumich, he won't get near a senior role.
Ratts sound like a brain surgeon by comparison. I'm sure he's a lovely bloke but nah.

Richardson is a rat. I said at the time that Essendon* we’re doing backflips of Joy when they moved him on to us. When he structured that role to be a wedge between Ratten and the rest of the coaching staff, it was an act of sedition. Seeing him get his comeuppance at St Kilda by Ratts’ own hand is a beautiful sight.
