We need to keep in mind where the improvement will come from players on the list.
It's obviously the young ones, and there's a lot of them.

The last 2 games against top 4 teams suggest we are not far off, and our kids should not be ashamed to lowering their colours to seasoned fotballers and Premiership players. They know what they need to compete.

Strength, Speed, Confidence and footy IQ. The first 3 are Andrew Russell's domain. The latter is the Coach's plan and Development Coaches over a long summer.

If Andrew Russell can stack on some size and strength to TDK, without hindring his leap, TDK will be a gold mine/ revelation for our midfield group next year.

We are not that far off despite some form issues of late with kids like Fisher OBrien Dow.
We know Cuningham, Docherty, Curnow and Marchbank will be back in the fold.

Adding a Cognilio to the midfield would e a great injection of speed and inside work.
Adding a Papley would give our forward line a lease of life with a small goal kicking forward.
If Hill could be added to the midfield group, along with the 2 mentioned, that would be a coup and we should be confident to play finals in 2020.

Add 2 or 3 of those above and we have the list profile sorted and pressure on spots with the young ones fighting for a spot rather than gifted.

And ideally, (from a draft perspective), we need these idiots to win next week.

Oh dear.
How'd I put this here when I was looking at the Essendon* thread?

Daisy won't be offered another contract.

That's disappointing. Personally, I think he deserves one. Even if he plays some VFL games. He offers leadership there.

We have a great group of young leaders to take over.

Polson on the list another year and Thomas not. That’s poor list management.

Thomas easily deserves another year, and I would have thought we learnt not to cut too much experience in case of form/injuries.

Yes. I saw that in our VFL performance Sunday.

That probably explains why Daisy hasn't really played much all year.

If he doesn't get offered a contract what chance he stays on in the VFL team?

Doubt it, why would you when you can still compete at AFL level.
Might go back to Collingwood and win another premiership, nice kick in the guts that would be.

That's disappointing if true. I think he's been fantastic this year and done more then expected. Seems to me like he has another in him as well.

Agree.

Daisie's body is in the best shape since he arrived t Carlton.
Finally we are seeing the benefits of this smart footballer.
He brings a lot to this very young group.
You can't replace experience, ad we are not in a position to let it go so easily.

If he remains, worse case scenario would be is the leadership and guidance he brings to the young developing players in the reserves.

We lack leaders with pizzaz. Thomas is the only one imo looking from the outside. Gibbons seems to show a bit of spunk too. Need more not less.

Will be disappointing if Daisy isn’t offered a one year deal. He’s earned it on form alone. His case should be even stronger given the injury issues with Doc and Willo. Worst case he provides good depth which we are currently lacking.

Always going to be in trouble if they land Coniglio. Even if some of the other big names on the market - Martin, Papley etc would probably come at his expense too.

Reckon Simmo is in trouble also by that logic.

Time's up for Simmo too, IMO.
