not only that, he's too short.

Now that's timely and funny

To be honest, im away a lot so have no idea of the talent coming through but it's supposed to be a deep draft (dont they say that alot?)

Adelaide have two picks inside the top 20 - currently 8 and 13. Going off the AFL Draft pick Value Calculator, Pick 1 is worth 3,000points. Picks 8 & 13 are wroth 2,673points.

Or - alternativly, would Adelaide do Pick 1 for Rory Slone (who's probably gonna try and leave anyway) and pick 8?

Id take that in a heartbeat. Especially if we can't get Gaff.

Forget Sloane, too old. We are better off targeting an up and coming 22yo.
But I would like to see pick 1 traded for 8 & 13 plus a PP from the AFL. This will then give us some serious bargaining power with other clubs to fill our midfield.

What about Port Adelaide? They currently hold Pick 12 and 21 (insufficient for pick 1 of course), but also have young VIC blokes like Drew, Atley, Garner and Hayes who can't get a look in right now. Could a bulk deal (ala Plowman and co) for one of our 2nd rounders be worth considering?

I can't comment on how these guys could be, but I remember them all being pretty highly rated at the time they were drafted?

It all depends on the approach SOS and his team want to take, but I think we could have more options than dealing with Adelaide again.

Pick 1 to Adelaide and in return, Mitch McGovern and Jordan Gallucci and Adelaide first pick back to us.
This can happen if we offer Mitch good coin and 5 years.
We target Jeremy McGovern as a FA to join brother.
Also target players like,
Wallis, Libba, dollshouse, Tyson, Hunt, Gaff, Scrimshaw, Brodie.
Just imagine adding the McGovern brothers....

Good point, looks like we could have a bit of an auction as both teams will want one of the SA top picks.
It might be a good idea to trade Casboult and our 2019 1st pick to GC for their 1st and 2nd 2018 picks and corner the market. They'll need a big forward when Lynch goes, just don't tell them he can't kick straight.

Forget what I said - we could trade pick for for 10 first round picks, we’d still be crap!

Baffling that Polson's contract was extended.

Please no more trading in bulk recycled players we have a ridicules 20 on the list!! Half our list is other Clubs discards please no more!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we want a player target him not just keep bringing in players because they are on the trade table. Docherty and Marchbank are probably the only players we have traded for that were still wanted by their club instead of cashing them in for picks.

Get Walsh or Ben King with 1, or trade 1 for Shiel and GWS first pick, if it’s top 12, to get another midfielder. We can still get a gun at 8-12.

Fair enough. Was just a suggestion is all.

I'm only saying there might be other "moneyball" options we can look at to help with depth as well as top-line talent. Brodie/Scrimshaw being another.

Angus Brayshaw - Jake Lloyd - Liam Shiels underrated guys that sound like they might gettable, straight away would make us a better team.

There are players running around in Suburban Leagues that would make us a better team.

Hard to disagree with that.

It’s all ok. People in the media are starting to see how serious the situation is.
Eg Jonathan brown. He seemed really concerned and stated on Fox Footy
“If this happens, if Cripps & Dow both go (leave Carlton)the AFL has a lot of work to do” to fix the situation.

Thank God the media is now putting pressure on the AFL to review free agency, the draft mechanism etc so we don’t have Carlton fighting with one hand behind its back.

Oops! Sorry! I made one slight typo.
The real sentence was
“If this happens, if Lynch & May both go the AFL has a lot of work to do.”

Sorry, I forgot it is all so much more dire at Gold Coast.

In other words, in this system Brown is saying the concerns of Gold Coast is far more pressing than the concerns of Carlton. I know why cause Carlton is irrelevant and Gold Coast is “good for the game”. Thanks Browny for clearing it up.

Makes sense. Gold Coast a fabricated team designed with no concern for teams with 170 years of history should take precedence. AFL please help GC like you have helped Sydney (academy picks etc), Hawthorn (tasy) etc. we can’t ever afford to have these teams down the bottom of the ladder.

Once Hawthorn make finals & recruit Lynch will they ever have to “rebuild”?

As you stated TAP we are irrelevant and in fact many supporters of other clubs are loving the fact we are so bad. Payback from the former VFL days, never thought we would ever get a wooden spoon, I think this will be our 5th in 15 years :(

We need help but I don't expect it from the AFL we need to get ourselves out of this sh1t, Lord hear our prayer.

Spot on its another reason people don't go to see the blues anymore. I know a lot of die hard fans who don't care anymore. Carlton are deteriorating. It's so sad.
