That video on the website for the 1st year players , at the end of it Harry McKay asks bolts what has he learned about the trip to tassie ? Bolts pauses and looks McKay dead in the eye , and says we have a strong future at this football club !!! . If this doesn't get an extra 30,000 members signed up by the end of the week, I don't know what will . I almost teared up!!! UP THE MIGHTY BLUEBOYS!!!!!

Bloody hell Bradley21, thanks for the tip. Watched it and yes, nearly teared up!

It's a long long long way to go, but hats off to the Prez, Trigg and others who from what I've seen, have this monolith starting to head in the right direction.

And as for Bolts, well everything I've seen, and yes its only somewhat superficial, is very re-assuring. He exhibits all the traits of successful managers and just the little things he's done (involving staff in training) are the building blocks of true leadership.

Agree with other sentiments. Not sure I've been as excited for a season that may in fact only return a handful of wins if that.

..."We need players who can think," he said.

"The game is so dynamic and moving that… if you don't have an environment where the players are a participant in the learning, not a just a recipient, then they don't think and the coaches do the thinking for them.".....

.....To that end, there is one question that worries Blues fans more than any other: where are our goals coming from?

Most smile through gritted teeth when supporters from rival clubs kid them about the fact that Jarrad Waite, Eddie Betts and Jeff Garlett combined for 145 goals at other clubs this year, while the entire Carlton team combined for 219.

The departures of Lachie Henderson and Troy Menzel since then might only add to the ribbing if they flourish in new surroundings, but nearly all of that pre-dates Bolton.

He is only concerned about what he has got, not what he could have had.

There is no simple answer, but it seems the mantra borrows from Hawthorn's "equal opportunity offence" as well as the unpredictably and flexibility provided by "multiple position players".

"What I do know about successful forward lines is this," the coach said.

"It's about the process of how they are working together, and working together can sometimes be a little bit more fruitful than people realise," he said.

Malthouse Process = Blindly do as I instruct, don't think freely or you're in the shithouse.
Bolton Process = Think, ask questions, challenge, lead.

"Process" vs. "Process"

One leads to mediocrity. The other leads to inspired, passionate, successful football.

Yes, true dat. Just responding to the poster who said that MM decried process. He didn't - he promoted that. Whether it was good or bad is another discussion.

I made error - didn't mean decry - thought it meant something else. I meant the opposite.

I'll get me coat.
