Time to dig up all those old Hamill threads and replace the name with Thornton. It'll save time and energy.

NEXT item on the agenda .........

Deano I'm suprised your saddened given your feeling re Hamil or is it Judas.

At least Hamil was insulted.

T-Bird wasn't regarded anywhere near Aarons league. Put it in perspective. Aaron played for a very good team at the time and provided an essential role in crashing packs and allowing Whitnall to become AA.

Bret has been good in a shit side and should have been dropped last year at states and early this year but wasnt through necessity.

As far as Im concerned the cock sucking muther flower has spat on my club and can go an rot in hell and I'll tell you now like all the rest before him Karma will get him - just ask Hamill - Campo - Beaumont etc . We matched the pricks offer on the word of his own manager, but we are not a desireable place for the little prick. Not one other club wanted him and we made him look good by virtue of playing in a shit side.

Lastly Im sick of hearing about him being a KPP - Bullshit - he thinks he's a midfielder for christsake and cant get a run there in our side  . Oh he cant work for Denise  well he has more to hand his hat on than you peice of shit Bret (with one T - at least my Best Man had 2). Archer hates Carey and yet both of these bloke love him and as much as I hate to say it about the PIG you arnt fit to lick his boot laces as a footballer.

The only thing I like about you if you are going to get us a real gun player and maybe two and the reality is we will a year closer to success than we were with you here and all those dreaming of a threepeat - @#$%&! It now we can go Four.

Of course, if he re-signs, all is back to usual. :)

An interesting situation for us, and a very strong hand to play in negotiations with Hawthorn. They have obviously committed to Thornton, otherwise he wouldn't be taking the risk of leaving. Therefore, the Hawks will be conscious of the draft selection we'll be after.

Danny Jacobs was traded from Essendon* to Hawthorn for pick 6, and I think Thornton is a similar standard player.

On top of that, Hawthorn have had a heavy emphasis on youth, and have had many early draft picks recently, so this draft will not have the same degree of importance for them.

Pick six at the very least thanks Jeff.

Is Thornton a popular player out our club? I do not see every game but in the ones that I have seen he usually seems to be blaming his team mates for mistakes that were more often than not his.

No it wont - as far as im concerned he will be an average player in what is going to be a very good side and when we dispose of him I will rejoice  . He spat on our club as for that he can go a get [REDACTED]( yet again).

The reality is he is gone - He has negotiated through the media - Besides have any of you considered his actions have probably left a very very bad taste in those players LOYAL to the club.

Also BV given our previous banter - He is responsible for how his manager conducts himself - He employed him - I think it is reasonable in the situation for everyone to think that he is acting on Brets express wishes - What is it Actual or Implied - Cant quite remember its been quite some time.

Anyway Bret can go and be a loser with Jeff Kennett.

Thornton wants out and is looking to be traded to Hawthorn. Just another why this club frustrates the #*$&#@ out of me. One of our most pivotal players he will leave a major gap and we can major thumpings next year with out pitiful defence.
I wish him all the best, he'll enjoy more success at the Hawks but I wonder if they will give us a first round pick, or a player and second round pick?

One side of the argument is just as logical as the other in this case because none of us know Thornton's reasons. It might be one thing it might be many. No-one knows.

I'm just happy the club finally has a player on the market that other clubs want when we need quality picks.

Exciting times ahead.

Agree that this could be a great opportunity, I'm just nervous with the current administration to negotiate an acceptable deal. If they do I'm confident in Wayne Hughes, but the negotiation is going to make me very nervous until it's announced.

He is not one of our most pivital players FFS and if the Dorks dont hand over at least a first round then into the draft or elsewhere he goes  . More success at the Hawks - Yeah sure. They will finish below us next year - Oh no  the rest of our disilusioned supporters on this site will see that as yet another strategic move to gain a quality player and rocket up the ladder  .

Why are you so bitter?

Were you this bitter when Hamill left?

Were you this bitter when Camporeale wanted his 500K?

Tell me truthfully, do you think Camporeale is worth more than Thornton? If you do, then you'd have to have rocks in your head buddy.

Look folks...right now its all about changing the bloody culture down at Carlton...If a player in Thornton wants out then GOOD!!!...its good for all parties as we need promising youngsters to walk in the door who will create a wave of enthusiasm and optimism amoungst the playing group...

Any players on our current list who aren't thinking optimistically about 2007 are just wasting theirs and everyone elses time...They need to go...

This draft is a BLOODY RIPPER and we have a great opportunity to really make some inroads and select some great kids who will be apart of our PROMISING FUTURE...

Go back 20 years and Carlton were GREEDY...In that one day in this coming November, Carlton needs to regain that greediness and select a number of bloody good kids to get us back on the RIGHT TRACK...

Denis needs to get a good grasp of that broom of his and sweep out the remaining DEADWOOD and replace it with budding beuaty rippers!!!...

I'm with Clem..if he isnt a pivotal player then why are we all asking for a 1st rnd pick for him?
Strategic move......maybe the united front can sell it like that...my view..
Chris Pelchen moved on him a couple of months ago and we didnt have a clue what was happening....if we get a 1st rnd pick for him then it will a stroke of luck rather than great management....signing Kouta was more important than signing Thornton, Fisher, etc...maybe the club should have got their priorities right.....
