Pros:

Oli, Charlie, Lord, Cripps.
Maybe Harry, although he was fumbly.
Nice to see the coach angry.
Tackle numbers pretty good.

Cons:

Beaten around the ball. We don't win often when this happens. Disappointing to get beaten by Heeney and Warner again.
We didn't seem to have a back up plan to control Heeney up forward when SOJ went down. Also Blakey got off the leash when Young had to be shifted to cover SOJ.
Another 2nd half where our scoring evaporates.
Way too many passengers. Nothing from our smaller forwards. Walsh quiet again. Carroll barely seen.
Umpires had a fair impact. Undeserved score assists to Swans. 3 obvious 50 metres in our forward half missed.
Some horrible turnovers from McGovern.
Opposition goals after our players slipped over.

The way the ruck contest was umpired is endemic of the current standards.

By not enforcing the separation before the restart, it was allowed to descend into a wrestle-fest. From there, it’s 100% subjective whether either player has infringed.

The process for arriving at the OOF decision against McGovern.
The 50m penalty against Hewett.
The 25m penalty awarded in our D50.
The insufficient intent calls against both sides (except Charlie’s).
The unique ‘wet weather’ interpretation of what constitutes a mark.

A real sport wouldn’t be having those four blokes back again.

flower I am still spitting chips at this one.

Only just learned that Aaron Francis was subbed at half time. Didn't notice during the game because he is a spud and the Swans couldn't take a contested mark if their lives depended on it. He was replaced by Florent. WHY, then, did we decide that Young needed to go into defence and stay there all game while our forward line turned to mush? We were NEVER in danger of being beaten in the air at any part of the ground, Swans have shit talls even before injuries. Our small forwards were don't NOTHING. Why not keep Young where he was doing great stuff and has been unlocking H&CC? Why not move Evans, who has a pathological aversion to the goals, such that his instinct when presented with a chest-high floating ball and an open goal, is to attempt a flying ninja kick like my 8 year old self playing balloon footy in the lounge room, rather than grab it with two hands and run it into goal with a bit of Boltonesque showboating for good measure?

And finally, WHY did that dog Amartey deliberately knock out poor Jordan Boyd with two minutes left and Swans up by 3 goals? So unnecessary, a disgusting act. WHY did no one from ours deck the cauliflower, if not in the immediate aftermath then after he scandalously was allowed to take their only @#$%&! contested mark of the game and score a goal to the delight of the smug harbour pricks? Motherflower should have been in a hospital bed or a morgue tray, not leading up in the F50.

@#$%&! OFF CARLTON

I think Pittonet received 1 free kick in a ruck contest all night - Grundy received about 5. I don't know how that is possible from all the pushing and shoving instigated mostly by Grundy as well. I just feel we were truly robbed by these flowers last night all over the ground. Just biased umpiring to keep the Sydney market active this year.

That was putrid.

Curnow has the FIGJAM about him. His Jesus Christ Superstar celebrations shit me no end.

Motlop needs to check his lineage as he is the most classless indigenous player I have ever seen. No awareness or smarts whatsoever. Elijah was seriously off last night. I see another break with MH issues coming up.

Depressing game all around. No fire from these players. They don’t give a shit, why should we?

RIP Wally - you had more passion for the jumper than these guys ever have or ever will.

Agree strongly about Motlop - CLUELESS ! Must be Voss's adopted lovechild to keep getting a game. A complete waste of space. Elija had a bad game but has been pretty good since his return. His brother was terrific. A pity that Boyd got injured, the tribunal will sort that one out hopefully. He is the best kick in our club and should never be out of the team. Unfortunately he will miss next week. Hopefully the thug who hit him will miss more.

Scores from turnover

Sydney 7.9.51
Carlton 5.3.33

Pretty much even for every other source.

But it’s like sponge cake or rissoles - it’s what you do with them.

Makes Motlop seem quick.

On and off all day.

Also asks me to log in a lot.

The game really started to turn after that incorrect OOB and goal to them. The Swans knew they'd get the rub of the green and played with more confidence. Our players, conversely, retreated back into their shells instead of being fired up.

I've also never seen us get caught HTB so often as last night.

It’s an infectious disease called motlopitis.

597 just now but the only registered users listed are me, three bots and Syd and I’ve often suspected he might be a bot too so maybe just one real person.

Obviously a lot of crawlers hitting site.

Has something changed?
