Why are opposition defenders allowed to grab, manhandle and impede Charlie and Harry 80% of the time without consequence yet when one of our defenders does the same we get penalised?

I think that is true of Harry but less so for Charlie.
To me, it seems like Charlie gets a lot of 50-50 frees esp when competing 1-1 and his opponent visibly panics (like what happened when Aaron Joseph was 1-1 against Dusty in their otherwise empty forwardline...).
But McKay regularly gets impeded, blocked, arms chopped or actually takes the mark but is not paid.

PS. I thought the HTB frees were mostly there last night. There were a few others I thought should be paid though. But better than last week.

FINALLY, I love our latest hoodoo - any team who plays us on Adelaide oval loses!

Watching the replay of the final quarter. Someone mentioned in the match thread how we were keeping the ball moving forward at all costs, with plenty of soccer kicks espec. from Saad. I also note that we did a lot of smart tapping to a teammate's advantage. Fogarty was particularly good at this. Quite a lot of shepherding going on as well, espec. Acres. Can't remember the last time we did the little things so well. If this is our new footy brain we'll be hard to stop.

Also, is there a softer player in the league than Jase Burgoyne? I've been impressed with him in previous games but he is so, so weak in the contest. If we find O.Hollands frustrating, this guy would have us tearing the stadium down.

Great win, a special shout out to the umpires who were putrid.

how many times have we lost games in last Q WEN GAME is ON THE LINE ,we need to stop the long bomb into F50 opposition taking easy marks and against good side u get punished with there quick ball movement eg georgeadis 4 goals . Loved 75 tackles though.

Careful there GE, I got ridiculed for saying we needed to practice these things and implement them more into our game last year.

Well, taps to advantage and shepherding should always be on the menu. But soccering the ball forward at every opportunity could be a bad tactic depending on how the opposition sets up. I guess we did our homework on Port because I don't remember us turning over the ball once with a soccer.

Saad kicked a behind which is a turnover of sorts

I know Damien Barret maybe a little off at times, however on this quote he is 100% spot on:

Quote:
IF ...
there is a better three minutes of personal impact in a match this year than Patty Cripps’ opening to the final quarter of Thursday night’s game against Port Adelaide ...

THEN ...
nah, there won’t be. Wow. In actually less than three minutes of game time, Cripps kicked two goals, racked up a goal assist and pumped another ball inside 50 which resulted in a Blues goal. What a leader. What a player

What a leader and player indeed! We are blessed to have him :)

Interesting how the Club sends out its Member Satisfaction Survey on the day after we beat PA.

In the after match they were interviewing Charlie after the game and he gave Chemist Warehouse a plug.
Didn't think about it at the time but last night I noticed that the umpires have Chemist Warehouse on their shirts.
Was it a subtle dig at the umps

The best bottom six players win you a flag

Really like Cincotta’s tagging role
Boyd has become a very good rebounder from defence which I’ll admit has suprised me
Fogarty is excellent as a small pressure forward as is Owies
Kemp and Cowan are goers
TDK clearly must be number one ruck with Pittonet as back up
And finally Williams is earning his pay cheque
Well said.

On a different note, I also think we still didn't get the best of the umpiring and Harry in particular doesn't get looked after.
And as others said, liked the way we kept the ball moving forward. This really only happened in the last and I was frustrated we weren't doing it more earlier.

Apart from Swans, we have been absolutely in every game and often letting ourselves down with finishing off our possession.
And then we click, like last quarter (and Giants second half) and bang.
We are becoming something really good.
Beat those cheating scumbags.

How Elijah Hollands compare to Jason Castagna or Kane Lambert as a 22 year old?

Are there twenty better country players out there who need the time to develop and grow, rather than being discarded?

Did a double take after Cowan did the Dusty fend off and was stiff to not get away with it. Kid could become a beast. Tassie players do it tough playing in the cold and are generally pretty hard at it like Mitch Robinson.
