Still can’t work out why Voss was going to sub Dow off.

Would have thought Dow‘s impact on the game compared to Fogarty’s would have changed Voss’s mind on the subbing, rather than Dow’s goal.

Like others, I wrote the day off. I just thought we'd finally reached critical mass with the players unavailable. And even then, the way we played was so frustrating in the first half. So many fumbles and skill errors. Credit to the saints pressure which was insane in that first half. But they couldn't maintain it and we took their best punch and then countered beautifully. We out-uglied St Kilda and ground out the best win of the year given the personnel out and where we were at.

Vossy took a big step today. Outcoached by Lyon the first time we played them. And again in the first half. To turn that around is incredible and the kind of win that creates a belief that who knows where it can take this group.

The games don't get any easier from here, but I don't think this group cares. They believe

Maybe doubts on his afl fitness?
75% TOG would be relatively high for him.

Looked pretty AFL fit slotting that match winning goal in the last quarter.

Yes but they may have had a premeditated plan (pregame) that had to be rethought on the spot

I would have thought that 4 possessions versus 16 odd would have put paid to ant thoughts of premeditation

I remember our winning 16 games in a row in 1995
This year we only need to win 14 in a row. :smoking:

Geez , rugged game wasn't it . Not for the faint hearted . Hats of to Paddy and Zac for there outstanding work . Terrific . Very even gutsy effort all round . This team is becoming more and more like an old style Carlton side with there ferocity which is an old remedy but still relevant today ..................... reality check is we are still not cemented in the eight and must continue winning . Like the boy with the barrow the job is in front of us .

I said to my husband earlier this week, "I wanna see what happens if we get a few goals down" - because we haven't really been in that position the last six weeks.

I did write us off first half but at 3/4 time I thought if we get the first goal, we win.

And yeah, the noise in the last qtr was amazing.

I think they only kicked 1 goal in the second half.

Voss was on the bench all game I think so someone upstairs is clearly a good tactician. Hamill? Hansen?

Good that Voss can rely on his assistants so he can have the connection with players at ground level.

That was so weird. Players were on the phone with Voss sitting right next to them so, who were they on the phone to?

You know those type of baboons
With the big ugly bums
That are all red and blue and pulsating and sweaty and gross

Sometimes when I think of aints supporters... Those baboons come to mind

And on days like this, I just want to tell those feral tools to go and lick a baboon's sweaty you-know-what
Slowly...
