according to the afl website, we were 'saved' because collingwood missed some goals....

i havent seen the full match, but i think that considering we were butt raped by the umps, i think collingwood were lucky to lose by that little margin

also, i'm pretty sure we kicked some points as well

no credit paid to our team by the afl, only sad for collingwood. get flowered afl

FMD literally 7 year olds know bad kicking is bad footy.

GAME OF THE YEAR!!

Just back from the game (after getting stuck at Richmond Station for what seemed an eternity...)

Amazing feeling in the stands! Genuine strangers hugging strangers stuff!

Once we were six goals up I started to relax (mostly!) and enjoy the win!

All the obvious big names played well, but wanted to make special mention of Jesse Motlop. Kicked two goals right when we really needed time, but consistently taking on blokes much bigger than him, and holding his ground. The sort of heart you can't teach.

Loving it!!

For me - a win for the ages!
Sidebottom - stick it up your surname
Moore - you got steels surname handed to you. Charlie Curnow IS the best forward in AFL and by some margin. Yes moron media he DOES kick plenty of goals against "top sides" too, so flower you.
Adam Cerra SUPERSTAR - and has soooo much more improvement to come!
Jack Martin - I'll admit - Ive been harsh in the past on him, BUT, I'm happy to admit I was WRONG - ffing great batch of games of late mate - tonite was the best I've seen and again I think you have much more to give.

Ummmm from what like 15th on the ladder to now 5th currently???
Whatever happens, pretty sure after winning 1 out of 9 games previously to this current 6 win streak, surely the most ardent critics should acknowledge this has been an ENORMOUS turnaround!

Our best win for 10 years tonight. What an amazing effort. People will say the pies weren't at their best but we didn't let them be at their best. The pressure and tackling was unbelievable and we maintained it for 4 quarters.

Charlie was huge and it was beautiful to see Moore piss his pants every time it came down to Charlie.

Weiters was a wall. Just killed them all night. Newman continued his great year.

The smalls and the pressure they brought were great as well.

Few things didn't work. Marchy was rusty with his disposal and decision making. But got into his positions and intercepted plenty. Hollands kept trying despite some looking out of his depth at times. Geez he's got some heart.

Agreed the 2 rucks doesn't work. If JSOS is available he comes in for Pittonet. Pitto makes us look cumbersome.

What a win though. I'm truly buzzing. Just wish I'd been there to see it

Not long home from the game.
Wow, I was not expecting that.
What a great effort and is so good to beat those smug Pies.
Only downer is Cerra, hope he is ok.
You just have to love Charlie. Weitering and Newman were fantastic.
Loved the goal from McGovern in the first quarter.
It was by birthday so this was a lovely present.
Go blues.

Great to see them lose after celebrating early like Elliott after he took that hanger.

Daicos Incorporated turned it over when the game was there to be won.

Marchbank's disposal was scary on the last line.

Twice in the last.
But 2 of his passes earlier on were sublime.
He's missed a lot of footy.
Point is, he's back putting pressure on spots..

Marchbank has always had questionable disposal. No issue if he follows the Glenn Manton rule of handballing it off to the better kicks.

Dow had an impact, but he didn't use it well and just kicked it forward blindly.

Dear Peter daicos yes your boys are ok but you don't need to celebrate like its 1999 whenever one of your crotch goblins kicks a goal.

My wife broke her leg last Sunday and had surgery on Monday but is still in Epworth Richmond. I decided I wasn’t going to the game tonight. I’d just sit with her and provide comfort. But after another endone at 8 pm she was fast asleep. Sitting there for while in the dark and I thought maybe I’ll walk across and catch the second half. Moral dilemma. You flower beauty. Members dining room bar was going off. Strangers hugging strangers. Loud. Unbelievable tension and joy.

What a win. Thought we could but injuries made me think maybe not. Everyone just stepped up. Collingwood supporters squealing about soft frees to Charlie. No worse that Charlie on Moore earlier. Pies defenders shit themselves when Charlie moves to the ball and infringe. Umps miss many more on him they pay. He is some special talent. That ground ball get and snap from 40 in the third was sublime.

So so happy. What could we do if we make finals with this momentum and injuries ease up. A la Footscray 2016

Do I tell my beautiful wife I snuck off to the footy ?

Other thing about the Colonwoods. Everyone thinking they’re at the start of a dynasty… they have some old players that won’t be around a lot longer. Pendlebury 35, Sidebottom 32, Howe 33, Mihocek 30, Mitchell 30, Elliot 31, Crisp and Adams almost 30. That’s a fair chuck of their core that’s getting on.

Compared to us, we only have Newman over 30 and Doc pushing 30

Was good to see players and staff keeping a lid on it. (Except for Sayers). Cunners dropped a nice sarcasm bomb on BT and BT decided he’d worn out his welcome soon after that.

The umpires were terribly biased to then at the start
But as the game wore on we benefited from some extremely dubious calls too.

All up I don't think it was too uneven, but I don't think you could say it was well umpired

Imagine what we could have done to them with Harry, JSoS, Walsh, Kennedy, Williams, Boyd in the team and a fully fit Pittonet, Cerra, Martin and Cripps. Oh yeah....just imagine if we can get them fit and keep the focus. We have the talent and now game plan, just need to keep focused.

Sorry but if we have everyone fit Pitto gets nowhere near our best 22. We can only play one ruckman moving forward. Once Harry is back we will have no room for TDK or Pitto in the forward line
