Accuracy up forward and diabolical mistakes in the back half.

If we had smashed them in the midfield as we should have... Non issue.

Our kicking was a byproduct of a shit all round performance

That was garbage. Nothing much positive about that performance apart from Motlop’s efforts.
Goalkicking was diabolical and cost the game.
Midfield was beaten for the 3rd or 4th time in 5 games (Pies, Tigers, Saints and arguably Essendon**).
Handed them 4 or 5 goals on a platter from dumb errors.

We go as our midfield go generally and our midfield has, apart from last week, ground to a half over the last 5 weeks. They need to lift.

So it wasn't just the goal kicking???

The stretcher really didn't help us.

Really felt any chance we had was gone then

Ugh... still so flaky. I thought we were past it.
The more I think about tonight the worse it gets. What a horrible performance. That was every bit as bad as we've been in the Teague years

Bad kicking is bad football.
I say bit again bec it's so important
Curnow is a poor set shot drop punt kick. Needs to work on this big time. Happens most weeks.

But anyhow we have now been beaten at the source 4 of the last 5 games

We simply aren't as good as many think we are

Developing yes

But nowhere near the finished product

Yes, we understood that. Hopefully in our development we learn from games like today.

This team will get a flag but along the way shit like today happens as we develop further.

Watching Voss' press conference he is realistic to where we are at. Gives me confidence we are in good hands. Stick fat everyone

Jury duty won't be an issue - If any get the call up, Vossy will write the courts a letter explaining they're required for finals

We looked really short of a dangerous medium forward to me.

I watched a press conference with Voss during the week and a reporter asked him about Carlton respects and were there to many of these causes now and do they lose the importance. Vossy has become a very good media performer and he has done this because he is genuinely honest in his answers. He looked uncomfortable answering this one and did a brilliant job of towing the company line.
It was a huge week for Carlton this week they invited in the media had 6000 attended an open training session. Loads of players doing interviews all promoting what is a good cause.
Last night was the 7th Carlton respects game and the 7th one we have lost.

We are not the only team that has games like this and I think the reporter was right in his question. It seems like every day in life in general there is another cause.

Carlton are a better side than what showed up last night but this week they were rock stars and they haven't earned the rock star status yet.

28 scoring shots to 23. That's the ball game.
Yes we made mistakes, gifted them goals, overused the footy etc etc but we had plenty of opportunities to win the game and we missed some absolute sitters.

I think an AFLW coach voiced his thoughts on the topic and the left were all over him.

Agree but at the same time if they had of taken their chances game would have been all over by quarter time

Spot on. And in an adverse way. It's a positive.

We were garbage last night, garbage... But still probably should have won and considering how much pressure they put us under . It's not horrible...

But it was a garbage ...

We had quite a few more rushed behinds than the Saints and also they blew plenty of chances in the first qtr - however yes we should have won.

Yes that’s it terrible game but lost game because dominated n third quarter and kicked 1 goal 6
Nail the goals we should have kicked
Multiple culprits
Terrible turnovers too that gifted goals looked off
Woeful really against a side that ain’t good

Really disappointed wasted a Friday night seeing that garbage
In danger of missing finals
Keep going win loss the last 5 weeks very immature performance and midfield below par

Only shining light was Motlop who I think was excellent
Saad good and Walsh the rest terrible

What, and miss out on such classic headlines as:

“xxx snaps x game losing streak against the Blues”, or:

“Blues fail to capitalize on chance to finish top 8”, or:

“Besieged player x regains form by booting x against Blues”, or:

“Plucky xxx show true grit against lacklustre Blues”, etc., etc.

As you get out and about this morning be kind to your fellow Carlton supporters. You can recognize them by the facial tics, the downcast demeanour, the darting eyes, the clenched fists, and the spontaneous uttering of profanities.

Reading all these posts you can understand supporters frustration and disappointment
Would supporters feel the same 3 days later

Folks that’s the modern game
You can’t play with more intensity than the opposition every week
It’s not possible
StKilda’s season was on the line
They knew it. They switched the ball more than last week
They took risks and it payed off
Good on them
They were the better team on the night

As I said it’s so even that anything could happen between now and September
We do need Weitering back
I reckon Kemp would replace Plowman as the third tall
Durdin Owies Motlop Cottrell
Things are looking up
But Rome wasn’t built in a day
Our mids are big bodied but lack a bit of running power through the middle
This needs to be addressed because you ain’t going to win the clearences every week
When we don’t we become average
As I said a few months back it’s important when you are smashing teams to win big
We had that opportunity against Port and Hawthorn and nearly lost both with Weitering being the difference between winning and losing
Our low percentage as a result means we can’t afford to lose too many more
