Doc was one of the few positives.

I'd offer McGovern an open clearance on that performance if it was allowed. Just shit.

Yeah Doc made a couple of rushed errors but he was great all day and put himself in great positions to win the ball when it counted before rushing his disposals. I am super happy to have him back.

We’re clearly capable of winning games. Have given up big starts but still been in positions to win. We’re capable. To some degree, that’s growth. We need to start winning some of them now.

As an aside, this team has a unique ability to turn a good week into a shit one; to ruin your mood. It’s my fault for being as invested as I am, but barracking for Carlton is a test of character at times.

We did manage to win games in the 2nd half of last year after poor starts but the same poor starts cost us against Melbourne and the Dogs too, where we lost both by 3pts. Even against Richmond last year we were down 6 goals to nil and were within 16pts very late. Melbourne and Richmond games were de javu from last year. Enough now of poor starts and comebacks, no praising them for a long time as we see it too often.

I mean it’s good we show fight, usually often bolts we’d just waive the white flag when down heavily early.

We have only had one heavy defeat under Teague which was sadly down at geelong last year, where we are headed to this week.

Overall I think we are too nice and haven’t got enough talent to be a decent team yet. At best we are nuisance value and most likely a bottom 3 side.

starts - we are not good enough to give sides a start - do that and then our weaknesses will show at the end - and they did!

But I loved the effort and refusal to give up of Pittonet - well done lad!

@#$%&! can we just start level- a but of intensity, some tackling, some awareness that its a @#$%&! football match.

Can someone take Teague aside and say whatever you are doing change it!!!!

Missed a big opportunity to kick start our season against a garbage side. We only have ourselves to blame. That first quarter was pathetic and when you dish that up you don’t deserve to win. If we start reasonably (even down a couple of goals at quarter time), we win easy. Can’t see how we beat the Cats next week - they play like a top 2-3 side on that ground. So it will be 0-3. I wanted to be 1-2 heading into games vs Essendon* and St Kilda - who are both no better than us. Would have been a genuine chance at 3-2. From there, we could hang around late into the season and build a platform for making the finals in 2021. Now it will be 0-3 heading for another bottom 4 finish. We can’t keep finishing bottom 4. It’s not good enough. We’re as good as Melbourne, Sydney, North, Essendon*, Freo, Saints and Crows who I think will make up 10-17 on the ladder along with us.

Waiting 5 years for a mature performance from this team -a good start and then grind away and win by 3 or 4 goals
Still not getting it in 2020
When was the last time we went to the footy knowing we would win
When was the last time we beat a really good side
When was the last time you went to the footy and wasn’t apprehensive because you didn’t know whether we would turn up to play or not
Yes we had a couple of Hollywood wins last year but that formula isn’t sustainable and doesn’t take you out of the bottom echelons of the ladder
This team needs to mature in a hurry and it’s coach must take responsibility for that

You continue to let us supporters down

We didn't deserve to win.
One day, we'll build a ruthless team that plays unsociable football.
When was the last time one of our players got reported for doing something nasty? Too nice.
Where's our line in the sandGame?
play some kids next week as we'll get flogged anyway.

After 3 months what do we get in the first first qtr............@#$%&! zero! ZERO! First time since 1951 the first qtr has resulted in zero for us. Then we nearly win, that just shits me even more.

As I said many times the trading out of 5 players and picks for Setterfield and Mc Govern was ridiculous particularly given the team’s performance in 2018 was dumb list management
Both have been ordinary
Throw in Kennedy O’Brien and Dow who were recruited around this time.
How Lang gets a game who was also recruited around this time
ahead of half a dozen others is mind boggling

What to do in 2020
Play as many players as possible. I want to see Philip Honey Ramsay get some games. I want to see Teague show some balls and drop blokes who play ordinary
Start with SPS and Cuningham
Both are soft and were crap today
SPS I think has never been dropped he has had a charmed ride
How Cuningham got a 3 year contract is mysterious
His output has been ordinary he lacks mongrel l

Play guys in different positions
Play McKay up the ground
Martin in the middle
Try different things
What’s there to lose other than finding something

Look to the future without sentiment
Give a youngster some time and drop Simmo
Bring him back the last couple of games. He deserves that

Bringing Betts back to the club makes no sense in terms of playing
He is stopping a youngsters development
He looks past it to me. He was on the way out last year

Keep playing Murphy unless his form drops off but if he want to play on 2021 say no

Largely agree, we are below average with talent, and that’s shown by having Newnes, Lang, Cuningham and a cooked betts being close to automatic selections.

We need to think in different ways and be creative to acquire talent. We seem to copy strategies of elsewhere rather than finding our own way and pouts of difference.

We have begun a path which at least gives us a way forward hit we have an awfully long way to go, it’s possible we don’t even leave the bottom 6 with this group of players unless we improve on and off the field in a big way.

I haven’t seen anything of the game. I was working.

But it seems that the same attitudes in hear for most of you are the same as they always were.

And that’s ok.

But I think I’d prefer to judge them on the season rather than the day.

I think we have decent talent but our application to the task can be horrible. That's the part that is pissing me right off. Make's no difference how the talent is, if you lack application and fortitude you go no-where.

Time to bring Dom in for a chat to the players about what it means to play for the jumper?

Never seen a player who loved his club more.

13 to 76 so far in the first in 2020 - I'm guessing next week it will be 20 105
