They're a plucky team that love the smell of blood too. They'll be rubbing their hands together. Could get ugly if we don't shut them down.

if garlett plays in the backline, we are genuinely screwed

surely schumaker is better than him?

Guess we will have to wait a little longer for some emotional nourishment.

If Garlett plays in the backline and Polson is in ahead of Lang then I hope we get smashed by 100 points and Bolts get fired
Surely not!
And why take out a mature head when we have dumped Daisy? Simmo must be injured?

Another season defining line-in-the-sand game. :donk:

I blame climate change for our predicament - the rising sea levels keep washing away our lines in the sand.

PotW.
However, should this be in the Misery Guts thread or the Sugar Coaters thread?

I was trying to be tongue in cheek. I still think we can win. And yes, I am a misery guts

Club said last week that Jones was at least another 2 weeks away

With no Murphy, Jones, Thomas, McGovern, Simpson and Doc we’re hardly full strength and worryingly that’s a core of more experienced players out.
Must be the youngest team in AFL ever I’d reckon?
Polson was pretty unimpressive in the VFL 10 disposals, Garlett got only 7 and Schumacher just ok with 12, Fasolo didn’t play. Josh Fraser hardly glowing of these potential inclusions.
Setterfield, Lang and Kerr on form must be the ins. Although Daisy and Simmo missing makes things look slow big and unbalanced down back.
Expecting showers so our basketball team and one pace plodders will be even more of a concern.
Hope not but I suspect it’s going to be another day for the group to ‘learn a lot from’

Essendon* have the bye this weekend

I seriously don't understand why we keep going in so tall. We don't need all of Levi, Weiters, Marchy and Plowman. Essendon*'s modus operandi is speed of ball movement and crumbing forwards not tall marking forwards. No way Kerr can play. Not with Harry, Charlie and Jack as well. Only way Polson plays is maybe (and it is a big maybe) if he can play as a tagger on Saad. He might have the speed to go with him. Might.

Agree...
I hope Polson makes it... Just for the youtube video and all.... But when I saw his name my only thought was 'defensive forward '.

Gee I hope we block the corridor, seems to be their only game plan....( and we'll likely not react for two quarters)

Go Blues

When I saw his name I thought ‘playing one down’

Same. Who was that young lad someone posted a link about, an early first rounder who's been ruled out for the season and is having severe emotional issues as the result of a concussion? Most times it's a week out, but it can be a career or even a life ruined. Feels ominously that Liam is headed into that territory.

I suffered category 3 concussion as a goalkeeper playing soccer. I was taken away unconscious in an ambulance and was told not to play any contact sport for six months. It stuffed me mentally and probably still does.

Not sure if Jones was that bad, but you can’t mess with major concussions.
