These are all really good stats so overall he probably had a good game but I remember getting really annoyed at some poor decisions, poor kicks and a bunch of nothing kicks that hit the target but didn't improve our field position. Even his effective possessions are rarely damaging possessions. He's a warrior. He's all heart. But his impact has fallen since the first handful of games this season.

For someone known for his marking, misses too many regulation chest marks
Floats in and out of games.
Lazy lack of effort late in the last qtr led to a goal. Then to top it off, is given a regulation shot at goal to atone and of course misses.
Time to move on from him.



Poor Levi.

Forget the captain turning the ball ove multiple times. Forget Silvani's OOF and other misses. Forget the other 9 behinds we kicked. Forget all the usual missed tackles. It's all Levi's fault for the last quarter miss. I was as disappointed at Levi missing what he should have kicked. But wow the hatred toward him despite all the other good he does is just ridiculous. Just crazy.

I saw a bunch of marks to Carlton players that would never have been taken without Levi's bodywork in the contest.

He's not our future. Our kids will go past him. But he doesn't deserve the whipping he gets here.

Great game from the kids. I'm disappointed for them. Pickett really showed something.

This is the only game this year that I've been really angry to lose. I mean like 1990s era angry where it would affect my whole demeanour for the following week.

This past 15 years has completely desensitised me to losses. Except those to this pack of c-nuts. This is still burning away like deep heat in a cricket box.

Not happy.

I'd have Simmo before Sheldon, Marcou, Quirk, Mconville, Lappin, Meldrum (had 2 great years, not 10). And on par with quite a few others including Betts whose best football has been at the Crows.

Don't forget Simmo played in an era of shit teams, much harder to play well than playing in say the 87 team or the 81/82 teams.

Agreed. I'm coming around to thinking that this will be his last year, but supporters flaming him of late have short memories. Yep he's made his share of mistakes over the years, but who hasn't that's worn the jumper in the past 20 years. Bar a few highlights we've been woeful as a rule.
I would however struggle to think of a player we've had in that time that has been as selfless and courageous as him. He's been a star and deserves to go out with a bit of dignity.

Unfortunately I have no doubt his effort in the last Essendon* goal will be highlighted this week. The ball went to a 2 on 2 out on the wing and Simmo jogged about 10 metres behind Tipungwuti hoping we would win the ball. The Dons won the contest and Tipungwuti was off toward goal unimpeded. We're not playing well enough that players can roll the dice like that. I love Simmo but he needed to get defensive side while he had the opportunity.

He's been an absolute favourite of mine but I'd like to see him bow out this year instead of risking playing VFL footy next year.

We can argue about single incidents and whether Levi is the antichrist all we like but the game was littered with many incidents that contributed to the loss.

No one has highlighted a period in the 3rd qtr where Essendon* couldn't buy a goal and we hit the front, only for a dumb turnover from the skipper that led to a Heppell goal and a simple Marchbank dropped mark that they swooped on. We ended the qtr in front but I had this feeling that we needed a bigger lead to outlast them in the final term.

Simmo had a bad game... move on

No, he's performing a vital role while the young players develop.

In terms of the b&f, his role in this rebuilding team requires play being directed predominantly through him, Gibbs, Docherty, Simpson and Cripps, so there's not much chance of him not getting high possessions (unless tagged) and thus always being in the votes.
