Dunno what happened there... I posted and nothing happened.
Not going to disagree strongly as I don't get to the games.
I do think you might have misinterpreted the bit you highlighted, though.

Yeah probably.

Just thought you were saying that in the past we can't run it because we have noone ahead of the ball because everyone had flooded back. My argument is that that is exactly when you have to run and carry to move the ball forward. There is usually a couple slightly ahead of the ball that are meant to bolt forward into all that sweet space.

We do look a lot better when we run it rather than dump it though. Clearly they were the instructions this week. Saw players check themselves on a number of occasions. Remain composed and get the quick hands going and hope it opens up .

The player who dubbed Cripps as a 'lingerer' must have rocks in his head and a poor judge of footy.

Strangely went missing (much like his football team) when I game him a 'friendly' call post siren.

Was thinking about you and him Dom.

You will have last laugh till the next season ...that's 7 months of fun for you!

Ive got a few smug Dees supporters to deal with too.

Blue hat, I noticed you wrote that we can't run and carry because we dont have players in front of the ball last week and now backed it up again this week.
In my opinion we should run and carry because we don't have players in front of the ball. That is the name of the game. Push back and then run hard with it. Sharing it around.

Correct and all teams do the same. The opposition will press to keep the ball in their forward line and if our forwards don't push back, the opposition will get repeat entries until they score a goal.
The key is having players smart enough to control the ball when you win possession instead of just blasting it straight to the opposition like Nick Graham did in the last quarter.
That will take time after 3 years of mind numbing kick it down the line shit.

In fairness to Graham did it once. The Ds did it at least three times

Good 4 quarter effort and a great win.
Good to beat those cocky Melbourne supporters.
Good to see Buckley playing well, hopefully he is re-signed soon.
How good is Cripps?

Like i said prior to the game, they dont like it in close. And when we crowded'em,they folded. And when we didnt crowd'em,they still folded due to percieved pressure. And a massive tick to Kruezer and Phillips who went to work on Gawn, who i might say,has gone down the infamous media street and is kissing himself goodnight in the mirror.Or at the least drinking his own bathwater.Thought Kruze and Phillips were magnificent.

I don't know if I was seeing thing but I thought that Matty Kreuzer was actually jumping a lot higher in the rucking contests than I've seen for a long time.

Great win today. Umps swallowed the whistle a few times, but we don't usually get the rub if the green from those guys......so I'll take it

Cunningham got bettr as he adjusted to the tempo. Promising.

Worst part of today and probably after next week is we lose two spots in the draft order

We may get a cripps again while they get a Lemon

Pros:

Terrific game from our rucks and Cripps and Gibbs.
Great to see a couple of different contributors on the scoreboard. 2 best games I've seen from Dylan Buckley. Maybe he's starting to feel like he belongs.
Defensive set ups excellent.
Weitering back to his early season form.
Wright's goal-assists.

Cons:

Graham's field kicking.
Thomas.

I agree.
I'd add Armfield to the cons as well. He's been terrible the last couple of weeks.

As for the pro's, I really like Liam Jones' intent and attitude. Personally, I think he's worth another years development.

Was very strange that he was omitted in the first place. I reckon we could have beaten West Coke Eagles and Sydney had he played

He's played 7 and we have won 5, extrapolated to 22 games that is 15.33 wins.

I believe this analysis to be foolproof

Melbourne may be building a side like we did circa 2008.

Was the kind of performance we would of given back then after beating a top side.

What do you mean we lose two spots? Yeah damn, we finished above the Gold Coast and we lose our bid on Jack Bowes.

Interesting now that we have players now with real pace that can kick a long goal on the run with the like of Touhy, Buckley and Armfield to a lesser extent. Nothing more inspiring than seeing a speedster break the lines and kick a long goal from 50. Boekhorst had terrific pace too and looks like he'll be a decent player, just a bit up and down for now in regards to consistency. Reckon if we had got him at pick 40, instead of 19, then we would've said we had down well.

If no one bids Gold Coast can take him using pick 9 instead of pick 4. Personally not sold on Bowes taken that high.

I would have thought Brisbane will bid on Bowes as he is from QLD and there will be no 'go home' factor.

I agree with all of that (for a change).
