My 10 yr old son is heartbroken. Barely said a word the whole way home. Poor little guy.

Our lack of class and poise unfortunately is all too obvious.

Many moments but our poor conversion in the second, Dohertys OOF and of course Wood stand out. I was right behind those goals and as soon as he kicked it I knew where it was going. It was literally like slow motion.

Just numb and speechless immediately after the final siren. Much like the 2011 SF.... :banghead:  :hitcomputer:

Honourable losses can eat a dick.

Not sure if you are serious Doc......but they dont care about nor understand the bigger picture. All he wanted was to watch his beloved Blues win in person. That was snatched from him in heartbreaking circumstances.

Pretty gutted to be honest.

My little bloke (Agro Jr) has just turned 21, and he's not so little anymore, and the 1995 WEG Grand Final poster on his bedroom wall is starting to show its age.

Actually it's on my bedroom wall.

It is a game of footy.

We lose almost as many as we win over the long term. It is not sunny side up every week.

Better way for young ones (and some older ones) is to enjoy the wins and not get too caught up in the losses.

Unless you actually have a real say in the result take it as it comes. It applies to all supporter groups, those with lots of flags and those without.

What have you got without something to support?

What have you got to lose with something to denigrate?

Went to the game .

Didn't expect to win.

In years gone by I might have been happy with our endeavor but tonight I was more happy with our structure and style. Really impressed with ability to work THE RIGHT WAY.

8/10 for the coach.

The outcome was disappointing but I'm pretty happy.

Don't forget who we played and where we played them.

Deadly serious...Would I have been as interested in going with my Dad to the footy as a kid if I knew the team wasn't all that great? I dunno...probably - but it would have been hard and I would've lost interest at some stage I'm sure. With bad management and expansion teams - there's no guarantee that success is a cyclical occurrence.

They got themselves into a winning position by playing possession style football and switching it around .It was good to watch.
Only thing is they seemed to forget about it in the last quarter.

Positives but as always filled with our skill errors. Very glad to see the boys back up for Murph.

Ellard, thanks for your gutsy efforts but that's goodbye.

No dull feeling on the loss. Happy to see the effort by all. At the end of the day we may need the higher draft pick to improve our skills more than the 4pts this year.

So we stop making the skill errors and we beat freo, a potential premier. Hmmmm doesnt sound like we are too far awy

Missed most of the game but feel Graham's effort to outmark two opponents in the last was fantastic. I thought he would struggle to even make the spoil. He's coming along. Play him more.

Everitt would have been handy out there last night - I think he would have matched up well on Fyffe

Just on Wood, I noticed at half-time hit-outs were 27-11 in Sandilands favour but hit-outs to advantage were 3 apiece - and Wood still made some contributions around the ground so I wouldn't be rushing Knockers back too quickly

Fortunately my 10yo knows his footy quite well and has watched enough to have a good idea about what's going to pan out. We both called a late goal a la the Geelong game, early in the second half. The fact that both of us were laughing about it post game indicates how Carlton gave messed with our minds too much.

Everitt was a huge out tonight IMO, would have been an ideal match up for Fyffe.

I suspect that's the last we'll see of Ellard.

Levi was off last night, wasn't clunking them at all.

The number one, absolute best thing about tonight, which we haven't seen for AT LEAST A DECADE was guys getting stuck into Crowley (and vigorously too), including Judd, Carazzo, Gibbs, Wood, and Murphy himself.

I've been waiting for this and been saying until that happens we're going nowhere.

I'm willing to have given up Tuohy's 50, Robbo's suspension, and more. But let them start shitting themselves when they play us.

I'd keep Robbo on the list for that and now just train him in Hodge-style controlled 'legal' aggression.

And when Luke Darcy (with a straight face) referred to Crowley as the retaliator......

Yes I know. Cracked me up. Loved Murph's elbow into the bread basket.

Happy with the effort however yet again our bottom 6 players aren't good enough.
We all wish that this performance augers well for next year and beyond however in reality any natural improvement in the likes of Menzel, Cripps, Docherty, Graham etc will probably be offset by the decline in Judd, Waite and Simpson who were all good for us last night.

My highlight for the night.
We played as a team and the players got Crowley at every opportunity they could.
Any team can do this but we did it without having a detrimental impact on our own game, not all teams can do that.

Still gutted. Got to face Freo supporters at work now and pretend it doesn't matter.

Disappointed with the result but pleased with the effort, too many silly mistakes all night cost us.
Where has that effort been all year, especially against the lowly sides?

Fyffe overrated Lucas is the right draft choice.
Where is that bloke!? Lol

what a surprise that our perth talent scout got it so right again - trust that bloke is no longer with us.
amazing how a simple choice can have such an impact - and I thought we should have taken talia.
another example of us being blinded by style rather than substance
