I have no issue with people who want change. Thats their opinion and completely entitled to it.

Who's to say st kilda or melbs don't have a 2IC with big ideas and an excellent philosophy and good contacts/ network all through the country, they've just never been given a go thus far?

They could be at any club, but we wouldn't know because we just look at the league ladder, see Port or hawthorn or the cats on top and say to ourselves, hey lets go buy that guy, he must be good!


My comment was based on we recruited a 2IC from a system regarded as good as any in the AFL and for what ever reason you want to believe he was gone within a few months.

There are some fantastic recruiting people out there. For a long while we have been regarding as the worst in the industry in this area. Not just for who is in charge but for our whole process and strategy or lack thereof.

There are a number of names we should be looking at and I'm not sure SOS should be one of them. How about Matt Rendell or Kinnear Beatson? They would be just two I would be looking at.


Give SOS mckay's job, nd send Andy Mac out to pasture?

Was Beatson the scout/ recruiter from Brisbane? Drafted Black, Voss, bradshaw etc etc That guy can build a list ... If we can't get him, which i doubt we could, we should be looking at his understudy who'd share the same philosophies and mindset and give that guy ago.

Yep! and now doing a great job at Sydney. Personally I would be paying whatever he wants. Position is just as important as a Senior Coach. Need someone to come in and overhaul the whole department.

Don't know if it was Rendell or a colleague of his but Adelaide had a very good record with KP players for a while: Tippett, Walker, Davis, Gunston. Did have some misses (like every club) eg McKernan.

That's a pretty underwhelming list if you look at it without the COLA adding the polish to your side. The rookies in that list in Rampe and Jack etc that have made the move into AFL are AFL NSW priority picks btw.
