Pension of Waite, Carrotts etc, lets start a proper rebuild, may drop down the ladder but will get a better draft pick - not that its always been used well in the past

I have been a MM supporter but the same thing is happening that happened under Ratts. When the supporters are confident, the players don't turn up.

How/Who can get inside the players heads?

Doesn't this tells you that it's the list and not the coach?

Yet you look at Melbourne's list and they have more spuds playing than us yet they are a more disciplined, defensive unit.

When they play you can see each player knows what the plan is - even if it doesn't come off

Under MM the players look confused; they don't know what to do on so many occasions.

Roos is able to do it at Melbourne with a shitter list; MM is being paid the big bucks to bring some resolve to the Carlton group but it is clear he is failing

You think our list is better??

Id take Melbourne list over ours in a heart beat. They have plenty of upside and talent on every line.

Poor effort.

I thought McLean was a liability all night, slow, inaccurate and hurt us.
Carazzo also didn't offer much & Waite was well beaten by another young defender.

All should be moved aside to develop kids.

Buckley also didn't look right.

The rebuild has begun.

Don't expect us to play finals for two or 3 years.

They'll keep cutting the bottom 4 or 5 players at the end if the year and replace with them with kids.

The Board should tell MM to go into rebuild mode now.

Undoubtedly. There is alot more to it than that though as we see.

We are far too patchy and have been for years. Doesn't seem to matter who the coach is. We swing from chocolates to boiled lollies and back again.

And our general sloppiness in disposal and discipline means that we never seem to take full advantage of our periods of dominance. How many inside-50s did we have?

Just really disappointing that these losses keep occurring and there just does not appear to be an obvious answer in sight or any indication that things can be turned around.

This is probably the best post this site has had in 5-10 years

This mostly comes down to leadership or lack thereof

Carrazzos turnover at the start set the tone
Waites brain fart killed us
Same old
Same old
Need to build a new leadership group
Jeff kicks 3 but does bugger all else hardly touching it
Gibbs runs around Untagged and does bugger all
Undiscipline reigns again
It's over for the old guard and thank God bec it's time for a new leadership group

It is better than Melbourne's at the moment. Long term Melbourne's looks better (given they have Hogan and a few others like Viney Toumpas Salem). I look at where they have come from to where they are now; especially points against. Look at Carlton points against from Ratten to Malthouse.

Four or five?

Do you realise the average list turnover each year is about seven?

Really insipid.

didn't turn up for the first quarter (as proved by their second quarter).

Then having fought their way back, they coast (as typified by Squibbs).

Don't blame the umpires (although those puss-bags were simply atrocious at the death). FFS. They are the bottom team. What were they doing within 50 points of us?

oh yeah, and don't forget, they lost their ruckman to a knee injury.....

Season over (if it wasn't all ready).

Waite HAS to be delisted at the end of the year. That man is a constant disappointment.
