Carlton hopes there will be resolution this week on a police investigation into defender Simon White.
White was involved in a late-night altercation last Tuesday where it was claimed he punched a man outside a Melbourne nightspot after allegedly being verbally abused and filmed against his own wishes.
White has co-operated with police and it is understood there are mitigating circumstances surrounding the incident.
Once the police investigation is complete, which includes security camera footage, the Blues will determine if any club sanction is required.

Verbally abused & filmed against his own wishes. The guy was asking for trouble. Not excusing White resorting to violence, but seriously. What sort of Carlton supporter genuinely goes out and tries to bait a player like that.

The sort of Carlton supporter who is actually an Essendon*** member?

He could be a country member.

I remember.

Seriously, club sanctions.

It is what is wrong with society now. Two millionaires biff on and they get a $500 fine

A footy player gets provoked and he loses his cool under the influence and has to be penalised by a club.

Every flower out there knows that a footy player cannot fight back and just take it cos he will get penalised by not just the police, but the afl club he plays for.

Let the police deal with criminal activities and what ever punishment they dish out im happy with. This will stop a lot of media looking for stories and stop afl players havinga target on them outside of the oval.

Before you mention role model, I didnt even know about this till l come on here.

Give he players a break, im sure vic police can handle it

Carlton unlikely to act.
CCTV shows that the victim was verbally abusing White and filming him while doing so for up to 10 minutes before he was hit.
Police may still charge him but they belive there was provocation

Carlton unlikely to act. Say Simon White should have hit him some more

Why can't we hit players on the field.

Milne
Thomas

Come to mind as perfect reasons to release the frustration

They should charge that dhead with entrapment and anything else they can use to make an example of him!
