I've only seen the first half but I'd have to say that Rowe has been pretty good.

Is he putrid in the second half?

Was OK in the air, but poor once the ball hit the ground.

Pies got 5 goals from 30 out or less from dubious free kicks.

We had 2 pr three missed.

We also went back to looking lost.

They were the better side no doubt .

There's also no doubt what we are 4 or more players shy being anything close to Top 4.

Must have 3 more real onballers.

That was like binge-watching the complete five season of Carlton: The Pagan Years. http://www.footyalmanac.com.au/afl-round-7-carlton-v-collingwood-the-peoples-elbow-binge-watching-the-complete-five-seasons-of-carlton-the-pagan-years/

First time in ages, years even that the midfield worked as a unit in that opening quarter - they blocked for him, they harassed Macaffer, they made sure to take a hit in the tackle to make sure they used the ball as well as they could and gave Murphy a free run at the ball.

Most of these passages of play were met with panicky hospital handballs or rushed kicks to avoid taking a hit himself.

Selfish player who is caught up in their own hype.

 and some people gave him votes.... :screwy:

If it was the Pagan years, our full forward would ve kicked 5-6 and we would ve lost by 80

Good point, well made... and we would've had at least one person in the 'paddock' so on those few occasions we did get a clean possesion across wing/half-forward we'd have a target to kick to.

Not much you can do against the top teams when you ve got a crap list with lack of depth and players like Yarran, Judd, Carrazzo, and Kreuzer are missing.
Murphy battled well with the close checking he got. Didn't sook it up and underperform like the first month. Criticism of him by some posters is unwarranted.
For me, this year is a write off for Daisy. Just get him back up and playing. He ll be much much better from next year after a full pre season under his belt.

What is obvious to me, is that we must pump wads of $$$$ into development and recruitment. We re stuck in the 90s / early 2000s in this department. This is how the Pies pick out talented players left right and centre, and we cant pick a pro in a brothel.

pretty much said we need to play the kids and turn over the list aggressively
players like bell, Scotland, mclean, cacchia, bootsma, lucas, rowe, casboult , armfield , ellard even Curnow and anyone that wont be in a premiership side need to go and keep churning through it till u get the right mix

I've been saying this for the last 18 months, unfortunately we have nothing coming through on our list and will play some players who are only their until we can recruit through the draft over the next few years

unfortunately it looks like being a gradual phasing out of these plodders

that's what poor recruiting and development over three years can do to a team

starting Menzell as a sub was baffling, need to get as much game time into him as quickly possible, he at least looks like he has some class

and getting Daisy still leaves me non plussed

Over three years?

Really it was a 10+ goal loss made respectable thanks to junk time & their bad kicking

We just never looked like we thought we could win. Maybe we dropped our heads once we knew Waite was out, who knows...

Haven't seen us struggle that much to clear the ball from defence for a while. Collingwood's press was very good, & forced us to bomb or panic/turnover. Repeatedly.

Buckley & Casboult had a real dip, & Everrit had his moments. Good to see Docherty get through his first game, had a nice little patch in the 2nd qtr.

Hardly noticed Jeffy all night, apart from that shocking set shot on qtr time. He went way too close to the man on the mark.

Only positive was finding $55 on the walk to the ground.

A Collingwood mate of mine put it pretty well.

My night made worse by losing $55 on way to ground.

Mm blames the list, but l saw a team tonight come out of the blocks flat as a tac. Coaches job is to get the boys fired up and tonight they didnt look like they wanted to play.

Time to cut our losses l think

No doubt he's angling for a contract extension.

Should we mention Daisy ?

Best not.
But since you brought it up.
Boy, what a stinker.

Was he our worst tonight? By some stretch I think, Kane gave him a run for his money though but he didn't get a whole game to stink it up as bad.

Speaking of Lucas, just played his last game i reckon.

I'm concerned we don't appear to have the requisite brains in the coaches box.

I think we need more grey matter and less grey hair, or is it silver?

Menzel sub again. Hmm not sure and not sure MM has it all squared away either.

Anyway, I reckon we'll be much better in July when we meet again. Hopefully they don't get gifted 5 directly in front from the green maggots then either.

I can't remember all 5 but I remember a couple and they were just stupid or undisciplined on our half.

just dont have a modern group of players to play afl.

cripps watson bootsma lucas
my god!!!

lucas you let me down again...
rowe you can hold your head up high.. yure not afl standard .. but u gave it everything

there were only 2 highlights
docherty and buckley

both have what it takes to play the game

everitt was ok..

we have the softest bunch of players running around the afl.
outbustled.. outworked out skilled by a very young collingwood side

its why i hated the years of "dont get stuck into them.. theyre young... "

you must go in early and hard

guys in the reserves can not take forever to come good
buckley before watson and bootsma

graham needs to play for mclean.. if no good hes delisted too.

we just dont have a list of the types modern day clubs shape teams into

its amazing...
i look at our seconds and think WTF!!!... whats there to draw from???

what the hell has out club been doing for the past decade?
