At times Armfield's pace broke the game open and he again showed a willingness to do the little things that sometimes our big name players don't, tackling, shepherding etc. Also showed good leadership. Disposal was hit and miss. I guess it was exactly the type of performance we've come to expect from him.

I'd be seriously pissed if Gaff has a good game.

This kid is so outside he should be in a corporate box.

Cheers, yep, that's how he goes about it.

Re: Gaff - yep, he's outside but he does get the ball moving for them if allowed to get the easy possessions. They'll be missing Ellis as well for the link kicks.

Very winnable game.

Eagles have problems with pace and quick ball movement and they are not playing with a lot of confidence .

Unfortunately either Waite or Hendo will probably need to go down back.

oh, but Mikkey says we have to revert to MM's game this week, so....

Gaff would be perfect for Armfield. He'd out-muscle him and hurt him going the other way IF Army is fit enough.

Id bring in Army and Garlett for pace and Cachia or McLean for the hardness.

Any news on menzel and Jamison???
Someone suggested Holman this week, would like too see that..
Would also like too see docherty get a run, graham deserves 4 or 5 games in
a row, bit unfair to be dropped like that..
Jamison, Menzel, Docherty, Graham, Garlett and Holman all players that if came in
would be happy..
Massive game and darling can go fu&@ himself, reckons they should get the job done.....

I read Watson is going well in the 2nds, except apparently he is a giant dud and never will make AFL standard, so we shouldn't pick him. Just delist him.

Watson is a career 2nd grader. There's nothing wrong with that, it is what it is.

Lots of guys have looked good in the reggies but never been able to make the jump to the afl, and the biggest thing they all had in common was too slow/ not enough athleticism.

imo that is where watson is at. If it was 10 years ago and we still had traditional FF's he could get a game on them. But teams now will run him all up the ground and expose his poor agility & foot speed.

Only thing there is Watson has actually alot better in the seniors than he has with the NBs

Someone said Garlett killed it y'day? If he's in touch, his speed around our now tall timber forward line would be an asset, imo.

I heard he copped a bake at 3/4 time & lifted in the last qtr

No bake at all. Crap. He did lift though.

When you look at the quality we lost in Judd, the gut running power of Curnow and the "can be a little bit iffy" in Bell, and then look at who we could bring back, Garlett, Armfield, Cachia, McLean or even Buckley, it shows we at least have a little bit of depth at the club. Garlett for me is a Shoe-in, having him crumbing off the three tall forwards or move them up the ground and give him space to use that pace of his to run. Mix it up a bit having him run-amok in and out of the forward 50.
Would also like to see Cripps and Buckley getting more games under their belts. Losing three on Sunday could be a blessing in disguise and force us to put games into our up and coming talent. Win, lose or draw.

Not really too concerned about the results of this game. For me this season was never about winning flags. We are simply not up to it. Finals? One can hope, one can dream, but these young guys are our future and win, lose or draw, we need to be blooding them for the big time. Of coarse Malthouse may go for Garlett, Armfield and McLean and stick with experience, but I'd like to see us persist with these young kids and give them as much game time in the big league as possible.

If McLean gets over looked this week, he has played he's last game for us..
Doesn't bother me if he gets delisted or traded, we have seen what he can do
and sorry to say, he ain't no match winner..
Hoping Jamison and menzel are right to play.
Would like too see,
Simpson Jamison Buckley
Tuohy White Walker
Thomas Cripps Scotland
Yarran Waite Everitt
Menzel Henderson Garlett
Warnock Murphy Gibbs
I/C; Carrazzo Lucas Docherty
Sub; Holman or Graham
Like too see more youth given a go, Holman and Graham have
been consistent over the first month for the ants, docherty is a lock..
Docherty, Menzel, Buckley, Holman, Graham and Lucas, gives some hope
for the future years..
Lucas is starting to put the head over the ball, maybe the message is getting through,
best game in a long time, adds pace, just needs to be a bit more composed, but good signs.
Hopefully this draft we can add a KPP or two.
Giles is another that could potentially give us a quality defender in a year or two..

Wonder if they take a gamble and promote Blaine Johnson with Kreuzer's LTI rather than Wood.

25 touches/4 goals is a fair output. The third midfielder inclusion is difficult.

* - I assume Menzel isn't going to be considered for selection for injury reasons. McLean also for other reasons.
* - There's a bit of same/same about Armfield and Cachia, figure only one will come in.
* - Not a massive Nick Graham fan, and think the MC aren't sold on him yet either.
* - Simply not Mitch Robinson.

The other issue is whether Cripps needs a spell as well.

Buckley, Cachia, ?

Jamo and Menzel apparently good to go this week according to the club latest injury update.

Buckley, Menzel and jammo back if fit. If not, think about armfield. Promoting Brock is a step backwards. His time has past. Glass has done the right thing by us. Both teams will try and exploit weakened defenses. If WCE lose this game they will have blown a very good start to the season. We have a good draw this year and getting WCE here gives us a good chance. If we lose this we will be looking at a 1/6 start with the Pies coming up. Expect WCE to be way tighter than the Dogs. If we win it indicates we will have a competitive season and finish about 10th, if we lose we are looking at bottom 4.

I'd be very happy to see Brock come back in.
I think he's been fabulous or us, and if he's playing well, should be included.
He has busted a gut for us, and kicked plenty of ripper goals as well.
I understand the Brock haters about as much as I do the Gibbs ones.
Obviously we have to blood the new kids as well, and soon enough, Brock's time will pass,
but not to play him for petty reasons is pathetic.
If you read all this crap Brock, I for one appreciate what you've put in for our club.

Mmmm, not always the most accurate of injury lists is the CFC's.

I think the game on the weekend would have suited him.

He would have been a far bigger contributor than Cripps or Judd.

I'd start him and have Buckley or Lucas as the sub for this weekend

Web-site report saying only 17 possession game for B.Johnson. Reckon he must be getting close for a promotion. Seemed to jump ahead in pre-season calculations by surprise and continuing on with good form so far in the VFL.
Interesting that Brock has dropped down the list of the best players on our report today. Graham & Watson both jumped ahead of him from previous reports but Johnson named the best.
