The problem Watson has is that we have all seen what Henderson can do, so we have some minimum expectations in place. We have got to find a CHF at least as good as hendo. For me Watson is too slow, Rowe is certainly not the answer. If Everitt can't do it then I think we have to play hendo back and then try for a faster mid sized forward line:
Yazz or Ellard, Waite, Thomas, Menzel or walks, Casbolt or Kruze, garlett
And see if we can get them to lead, forcing us to learn to kick low into the F50.
(Remember leading?)

Everrit for Walker's role
White for Everritt's.
Watson needs to stamp himself on the side or go home.
Yarran to the wing. He played at FB last week as usual when he is supposed to be HBF. Surely MM knows he will be taken to the goal square every time we play him in defence. The 17 other coaches and every poster here on TC knows it... Simmo to HB.
We need rugged and fast against the Richmond midfield. Cotchin is elite, Deledio is super quick and Martin is fast and heavy duty. Armfield should come in for one of the slower mids. Bell? I hope not. McLean? Can we afford it? I'f also like to see Touhy get a run in the middle. if Buckley is ready to play BP, maybe Touhy can rotate through the midfield.
I'm off to the worry room again for this one. We may have beaten them twice last year but we had to run them down twice. The secret to winning this week is to get out fast and not let them kick six in the first.

White is as useless as McInnes. Both play Similar football, and both are hacks... Useless average defenders who can't even beat their 3rd Tall Opponents. Get rid of them both... I have more Faith in Watson and Everit over them. At least Watson can kick the ball.

when white was fit a couple of years ago he played some good solid hard at it football. his upside is way better than what watson has to offer. he can actually run with a bit of pace, take a mark , beat an opponent and make a decision.

Mick should give Walker an extra week off for stupidity.
Undisciplined and mentally lazy.
Draw a line in the sand, Carlton

I was thinking about the lack of leading and instead we go for long bombs to the pockets. I don't think MM thinks our players have enough composure/skill to kick to leads and those are turnovers are more costly. Hence long bombs to pockets where Waite (at least for a quarter) can go one on one speccy.

Kids are the future, the sooner we get em up & going the better. We are not approaching 11 o'clock at all with this list.
Why play aging guys who offer nothing long term....We are not going to do anything this season. Our future is the kids, we need to give them game time.
Port have done it , they were nowhere a few seasons back look at them now.
Ahhh But ultimately I know the reality is that it wont happen..

White, Graham, Judd if not fit then Holman, & Buckley. For McInnes, Robinson, Garlett & Walker.

Give the kids a chance.

It may be only the second round but the others have been found wanting. With McInnes and White like for like.

Doesn't sound like there'll be many changes. Players will be played to get to the required match hardened level needed in the AFL.

McInnes was a spectator last week, when was the last game Garlett put in 4 quarters (or even 2 full quarters), Robbo to the Northerners to learn to kick properly in a more subdued environment. Walker was an idiot and gave himself a rest this week.

Hopefully Juddy will be fit as White and give the kids a chance. You keep sprouting the current mob aren't good enough, season the young 'uns.

Not up forward but okay down back and at least he puts in unlike McInnes last week. Total shocker. The only thing that could save him is that his game was that bad he must play better if selected again.

Henderson has to play back (cause there is no other tall other than Jamison who can do the job).
Casboult to take Henderson's spot up forward.
Cripps at least as the substitute.
Graham and Buckley need to be considered.

But hey ... whatever Dr Strangelove and the MC decide is good enough for me (you can't argue with 1 premiership in 18 years).

We must play as a team help each other like getting back and filling the holes in def so ,jack ,vickery cant lead into space.I do not want to see jack v watson one on one leading from goalsq . 1 example last week waite had 3 port players in front of him he had to stretch over the top to mark picture in herald sun.CAN we do this?

Absolutely. I am sick and tired of players coming out during the off season making excuses that they had a poor season due to injury. If they are injured then we shouldn't play them. A young enthusiastic fit player will be much better than a guy who can't run and tackle.

So basically Mick and Wiley are incapable of of preparing a team so that they can play well in round 1

Mick is the most experienced coach going around isn't he?

And from what I heard this preseason Mick started a bit early and didn't do any book launches or tours.

That leaves the players doesn't it?

Yes the carlton players.....it's never their responsibility... Floating around for a decade pushing the boundaries of mediocrity and comfort
