Except when teams took him deep in defence, and he was rubbish defensively

We hamust win against the Doggies....then the next opponent and get over Port in the last.

I'm still keen to make the 8.

Lose any game in the next 4 weeks and we are toast.

Would love to see the ducks line up and luck go our way...just to see what might happen in the finals when we least expected it.
Usually that means out straight sets because we've made up the numbers...but I reckon we are learning from our losses.

Waite back this week would help immensely. Come on big fella.

Would like to see Graham and Bell play...and glad Watson performed well both back and gorward last week.

Is there anyone else ready to play AFL? Joseph, Duigan and Laidler aint going to happen...sadly for them.

Bondi, stop it mate. You're too positive. Our list is shit and we have no hope. Get with it.

We don't Deserve to be in the Finals and even if we made it by Default as a result of a possible Essendon* ban, it would be unfair for the rest of the competition to see a team like Carlton grab 8th Spot.

The reason I say that is because we havn't been able to beat a top 8 side all year. This means we are not good enough to match it with the best. A final's appearance will just be making up the numbers.

How about we concentrate on playing the kids and cleaning the list from players who are not in our future plans?

I agree Dodo. This is why we need to beat Richmond, Essendon* & Port to make it however. Then we deserve to play!

I'm with you Bondi, the season isn't done until it is mathematically impossible to make the Finals, we can worry about the list after it's over

*Edit* Even if we get to the point we can't make it we play out the season with the intent to win every game we can, nothing less should ever be acceptable.

We can match it with the best we just can't beat the best (would like to add yet in there but not sure we will this year). Essendon*, Hawthorn, Fremantle, Sydney, Geelong, Richmond, Collingwood (1st round) and we beat Port + WCE, Adelaide & North on the next rung down.

Add a fit Waite and perhaps we can finish off with a last round play-off in Adelaide against Port for 8th.

Must win this week and it sounds like there will be changes & new/er faces this week.
In: Graham, maybe Bell and Waite, Casboult and either Menzel or Buckley

Whether you play the kids or not you always go out to win.

Develop the kids but develop them with a structured winning game plan and not a totally defensive one.

Teach the kids how to play and show confidence in their ability, put your best players in a position of positivity and demand leadership and accountability.

Pretty much. Beat those three and we've proved we belong in September, even for just one week.

Really like to see this line up this week:

B: Simpson Jamison McInnes
HB: Walker Waite Scotland

Foll: Kruezer Gibbs Graham
C: Tuohy Curnow Bootsma

HF: Bell Henderson Judd
F: Murphy Watson Casboult

Int: McLean Cachia Armfield Robinson

Want to see more run and workrate all over the ground. More mids that can prodcue consistent results.
Tuohy & Gibbs into middle of ground
Waite in defence. Can go forward if needed
Casboult for Rowe
Curnow on Griffin & Armfield on Murphy
Bell, Bootsma, McInnes & Graham in as well.

I have this dream where we take the Scum's place, and beat the Filth, who've accounted for us twice this year :smoking:

true,
But surely this is as much a coaching issue, as it is a problem with Yaz?
Don't forget the positives from him working at half back.

I like your thinking and your selections Psych.
Haven't checked to see who you've dropped other than Lucas and Carrazzo.
Surprised youve kepy Cachia and Curnow...I cant drop them either.

Rowe or Casboult doesn't really matter coz Rowe aint got it and Caz aint got it for 4 qtrs (which is really important).

I really want to see Waite and Hendo work in the forwardline and the ruck/ fwd as the target: Waite mobile 3rd tall.
I want to see it because I think they would be dangerous like that. Having said that I really enjoyed Watsons forwardline work. I dont think he played as a FF. He seemed to roam a bit last week. Anyone see him standing at FF last week?

Gotta win....like every game...when we're not tanking.

The more I watch Yaz the more Im convinced he's a wingman/ HF.
As for the tank, I thought he did a bit of work on that over the preseason.
Make him work on the field like we do to Casboult and see how long he can last.
Maybe he's gotta see his shortfalls for himself. I dont think he's been pushed hard enough.
Sure he got dropped and made sub but that didnt push him physically.
