They have gone on record as saying they don't spend as much money on recruiting as the 'big clubs' (or something like that) as if that exonerates them.

You know, for all the bleating, we did go and snare Geelong's no. 2 recruiter. He hasn't had a draft yet.
It's not like we have not changed anything at all.
I'm not saying the recruiting has been that flash, but if Bruce did a little research before taking reporter's phone calls and blowing off some steam, he might do better.
(Or, you know, attend the match and see it through to the end, not have a hissy fit and switch over to Silent Witness or flower.)

Mr Matheson's criticisms are correct. You cannot dice it, bake it, slice it or dice it any other way.

We cannot buy Premierships any more. We have to buy the best Recruiters such as Beatson and Wells to select the best players.

The Club's Directors and/or Administrator(s) who decided to continue with these recruiters for this period must take responsibility for their actions. If not, we run the risk of repeating history.

Josh Kennedy at 4 - nice selection.

The chickens are coming home to roost.

Hopefully some accountability now.

There is no need for the rest of the football world to know what we are all thinking.

Nevertheless that is his style and hopefully something comes of it.

You think this is news to the footy world?

Every club overrates their playing stocks but we're gold medalist at it...

Time for us to wake up... unfortunately, it has to happen publicly because we're too incompetent to do it internally.

Great logic there.

I think it's fair to believe that the club understand our position as much as anyone.

My guess is that they have realised our overall football structure is not good enough.

I would hope that Luke Williams has been brought in to be our No.1. Hughes and Rogers need to move on. By anyones standard that list above is diabolical.

MM came in with Wiley and not much time. I suspect there will be major changes to our coaching, list management and development come years end.

People are calling for a review. I believe that part of MM's role has been to do just that in regards to the football side. Have no doubt he would of been making it clear what needs improving and changing and who they need to get.

Will be a very interesting period come trade week.

I hope!!

How much money did we have to spend on recruiting and development prior to 2007?

Rogers has been here since 2008. Doubt that anyone in recruiting circles would take Mathieson seriously. They'd laugh.

Wells, Williams and co. recruited Prismall, Djerrkurra, Dawson Simpson, Simon Hogan, Tom Gillies, Adam Donohue, Stephen Owen, Scott Simpson, Dan McKenna, Mitch Brown and Ryan Gamble between 2004 and 2008. All national draft picks.

How is their football going this year?

If the talent isn't as good as many say, then I guess TC should apologise to Ratten for getting this list into the finals and within a kick of the top four. You can't have it both ways.
