On the right track. Need to fill some holes next recruiting period. I have great expectations for next year.

Totally agree. Add Menzel, McInnes, Graham, Yarran, Bell, Buckley (hopefully okeefe) to the side plus a few more classy runners and a key defender and we will be a good side.

Bootsma, Casboult, Henderson, Lucas also have a lot of upside.

QFT. What about the deliberate out of bounce against JUdd when Hawthorn did it... nothing.

The problem is ....... how do we know Judds wasnt deliberate and Hawthorns was???
The silliness with AFL is umpires are mindreaders now...

I've been saying that for ages .... that and what Judd mentioned this week. We have the ONLY game in the world with dynamic rules.

Was probably a game where Yazz may possibly have made the difference, but in the scheme of things we ll get more value long term from the disciplinary stand taken. Happy with tonight, got beaten by a better team by only just..

Yep. This is not going to be our year, but for the first time in ages I am starting to feel like we can compete with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Now we have to turn 'competing' into winning.

Unfortunately we are a bit Richmondish
We are doomed to finish ninth

Be prepared for a 22-13 Free Kick count against, but yes, it is worth watching.

Love the look of Cachia. Great get. He's clean, good in close, hard at it, seems to make good decisions all the time and stands up in the heat of battle.

Gibbs best game for the blues tonight. Needs to stay in the guts.

Who the @#$%&! is the ump in the number 9? He was a disgrace.

We were unlucky with injuries to Murph and Robbo who was having his best game for the year but again I thought we had our opportunities and fluffed them. Betts FFS!!

Nothing.

He's got a broken jaw.

Oh you mean the other MM.

Needs to get fit more than anything.

We need 22 players that can play at a high level for 100 mins. At the minute we have about 18 and we have to cover those that can't and we fade and get ran over.

Either that or find a less taxing more efficient gameplan.

as bad as the umpiring was, We still had a chance to win it, in the end our finish needs work, we need to bring in a player or 2 with natural footy smarts and skill or develop it in the current group. was so obvious tonight that our development had stalled over the last 4 years

were thereabouts but not this year....

doubt we will make the eight this year... should next year though.

but Juddy and Simmo lifted us.. and theyre around 30... Carrazzo is the same.
Scotland played ok.. and hes almost 40....

So we need to find some dynamic powerful running mids that can execute!!! FAST!!...
Guys that can tackle and stand up in tackles....

cough cough

and Menzel should be in the side because he is clean and has a good head for footy... you need those types who can think their way through a situation .. especially up forward... cos u need the score on the board.

Bootsma played a shocker.. but he will be good.

Garlett needs to get back to what made him a good player.. not running past the ball.. not kicking it on all the time.. and not kicking around corners.

Kreuzer needs to go to where the ball is and not where it aint.
Wait should smash guys in our 50 not theirs...

Composure, first touch, body work and the ability to break tackles was their edge over us.

We have not played in many what you would call "big games" over the last decade. The lack of this is certainly telling.

When MM refers to there being a process to winning then part of that process "respecting your losing margins". When a team begins to respect their losing margins they are on track to winning games.

If we take this intensity to the likes of St.Kilda and Richmond then we would be sitting around 5th right now.

Tonight was the intensity level required ... we came up short in the four key areas I mentioned above.
