Sheesh you do battle. In my job, spelling and grammar are important in employing people so your puerile abuse regarding my opinion is immediately disrespected though I will reply.

My own observation of the game, the club's opinion on best players and the AFL's website all
indicate that Kane played well.

How many people on here were at the game? Just asking as I was and have such a different too many on here.

PA worked hard and played a very disciplined defensive game style. Really made us hard to get any flow at all. Wasn't a great game to watch and both teams really had as many numbers around the ball as possible.

My comments

Lucas was good. Not great but good. Really covers a lot of ground. Looked very good when playing deep forward.

Murphy didn't look 100% but was very good up forward and in ball. Best game as Captain.

Forward line structure better but not great. Kruezer handy when up there but not a permanent option. Waiters mobility makes a diffence as would Henderson. Problem is he is our best defender.

Curnow great job on Boak.

Walker good despite being tagged.

Bootsma up forward looked good then went back and did well. Still prefer to see him wing/hf. Surprisingly quick and his kicking is very good.

Robbo worries me. Gets it a bit but simply makes poor decisions time and time again.

Cachia handy but nothing special.

All in all a strong win with a lot of players out. A year ago we would of lost.

Dropped a tall and sed a smaller more agile forward line

Like the summary thank you.

I think that we have to Robo for what he is. A grunt player who can play at CHF and in the midfield but will never be elite.

The question needs to be can we be a premiership contender with guys like Robbo in our side?

I think MM will have a major clean out at years end trying to build a premiership list. It's guys like Robbo that will be looked at closely.

I'd prefer Cachia at this point. Provides the hardness and physicality, but is a better decision maker and kick.

I wouldn't be against trading Robbo.

Probably one of the kids best games. So go figure. :screwy:

King and Psych I agree. I think Cachia provides a lot but also think Robo provides aspects that the team needs. If he is not being paid overs, he is a very good depth player at the least.

Just back from the game. This will offend many but we are a seriously shizen side (regardless of injuries)
Port dismantled us time and time again, waltzing into a clear and open F50 with Carlton players no where to be seen, while we had to work so hard for all our goals.
Usual forward entry rubbish, skill errors by hand and foot and not enough mongrel in the stoppages

Should have gone to Etihad

+1. That was one tough game. The intensity at the stoppages was brutal at times. Port are no-longer mugs. They crack in and link up well through the middle. They have some onball talent and work hard for each other. Thank goodness they had Carlile and Lobbe playing.

One of the problems for us at the moment is playing the boundary line means that if we turn it over, the middle is open and we get scored against. I thought our back 6-8 were some of our best players today so it wasn't their fault the goals came.

We missed shots and lacked polish. But I really liked that our intensity was back and that eventually won us a game we could have given away with some poor decisions along the way.

I agree about Robbo. His frantic nature is all well and good but his 'get it and hack it BS' has to stop. I was as angry as hell when he didn't fly in the contest to support Walker when big Reddan marked infront of him. Robbo you need to get a grasp on the ebb and flow of the game. Hit the contest hard as always but please mix it in with some COMPOSURE!!!!

Overall it was solid but rough team effort that got the 4 points. I think there will be some very sore boys tomorrow because that was a very physical game.

Atleast Gibbs and Carrots should be back next game. For Menzel and maybe Cachia/Bell but neither deserve to go. Boots is in my team again.

Regards Cazzesman

Boots made a couple of poor decisions when kicking long into the forward line but was good otherwise.

Robbo does my head in as well with his lack of composue. But than every now and than he will
take a strong grab and kick a very good goal like his effort in the last. Its hard to get rid of a guy who is capable of that.
We can afford to carry a rough Robbo if we can put a little more polish around him.

Yeah he bombed long a few times but he will get better as he gets the tempo of the game.Importantly he puts his head over the ball.
He is a keeper.

I think Robbos ball use today was probably as bad as he's displayed.

Still a very important player.
