Malthouse this, Malthouse that.
Lets get on our knees and bow to a ex Collingwood coach.

Why the hell would Malthouse want to help us with a review. He is ex collingwood filth.

Malthouse is 62 in august. Even if Mick Malthouse wants to coach next year, he will be a year or two year coach. He won't be a long term coach. If we sack Ratten with the intention of hiring Malthouse and he doesn't want to coach, what then? Laidley, Choco williams, Mark Harvey or untried coach?

I'm over hearing about Malthouse. Malthouse isn't going to pull a key forward out of his ass last time i checked. He will be there 1-2 years max then back to media after he has collected his retirement cash.

He is 58. Stopped reading your post right there. No point!

Sorry mate, should of done my home work. Someone at the pub told me he was 61 and his bday was in aug. Either way, 59 this year, 60 next year.

Oh, well that's allright then if someone at the pub told you. I apologise. I thought you'd just made it up.

Suggesting that Mick Malhouse is a hack is ludicrous.
He has the knack to coach and bring out the best of his players.
IMO he probably got better and better at the caper as the years went by, and he's at his best now.

I hate MM as a football person because I am Carlton, so I'm no MM lover but...
I want the best available to coach us moving forward whoever that is, and they must be available.

Injuries have definetely been a factor for our incredible DEMISE, but what I saw against the Bumbers this year suggested we had a missing ingredient or two to be a bonafide top 4 flag contender this year (and that was after round 4).

Too many of our players are not strong enough physically and mentally to play consistently well week in week out.
Our playing group along with the game plan doesn't allow us to win more than 3 games in a row. That says it all.
Players, conditioning people, coaches and head coach are all over rated...just look at the results, the injuries, the spirit.

Oh. and yesterday the coaching staff decided to attend a Northern Blues game in mass...did they just wake up?
Part time coach left us...part time??? what were they thinking? AFL is for part timers? We changed the name of the twos team full time not part of the time.

And this Leading Teams mob...know a bit about the money spent and the short term results they achieve...I want our money back. I know they'll blame the Carltonians for their ineffectiveness, but they didn't instill a drop of what they were there to create.

Get the best and a proper process too...starting now with the feelers, then make a move on MM if they feel the need.

Agree Bondi and still cannot believe a part time coach for the second level of competition no wonder players coming in have absolutely no idea. Btw to shore this up more i know a head cricket coach who overseas 3 teams spends 40+ hours and works full time and guesss what its 3 female cricket teams.

Every peice of news that is coming out of the club is leaving me gobsmacked for its lack of everything!!!!!

I see nothing here that suggests he's got what it takes to win flags and be a great.. In fact his resume is littered with losing GF and wooden spoons...the added bonus he's a Collingwood goose to boot. We have plenty of Collingwood hacks at the club - I guess one more won't hurt. When the !@#$%& did this internal take over from these toothless hacks happen so quickly

hey j.inocraponli, last time I checked that loser Nathan Buckley's career was littered with losing grand finals as well. Another Colligwood hack and goose???

According to his non-logic losing grand finals <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< than our last 10 years.

Last time I checked you needed to actually get into grand finals to win them, and finishing 2nd is better than finishing 10th, or 14th or wherever the hell we are going to end up.

Not saying I want to be 2nd all the time, but to be slagging off Collingwood and Collingwood people because they have been part of losing grand finals is stupid given where our club is at. It would be the equivalent of Melbourne laughing at Collingwood and thinking they had a superior culture than them in the 70s and 80s.

Nafan Buckley? What's so special about him - he just started his coaching career and has proven nothing.

Probably just fine I would think considering most games they have done nothing.

Considering neither of them have done anything (apart from Clokes Game against WCE) I reckon they'd be one game worse off.

What about the very fact they are natural key forward and been drilled where to lead - dont worry about the goals - more to do where the contests are and the players around them.

I feel if we took MM, Roos, Eade or Thompson that their heart would not seriously be in it. Eade might get into it but he is not the pick of that bunch.

We will need to go young and get a mentor.

The same kind of myopic, smallminded thinking that defends Ratten the coach, just because he played for Carlton... is the same kind of myopic, smallminded thinking that will deride Buckley, just because he played for Collingwood.

Meanwhile, Buckley's team has just won 10 in a row. Despite injuries. And Ratten's team is in total disarray. But we're carlton, f*** the rest.

Get over yourself. So what has he proven as a coach?

I'll tell you right now, if Cloke and Dawes are out of the picture with long term injuries he is FUBAR.

If Cloke leaves for more cash will be difficult for Nafan to find a replacement. Doesn't need to be a Cloke - but he will still be FUBAR.
