Today was more than the coach not performing. Players just didn't work, give a shit and play team footy. Easy to say that Ratten buggered up with all those tall forwards and hard mids we picked today. Doubt that another coach would have produced better results with today's team. Players don't deserve to get off scott free by knifing the coach. Murphy, Simpson and Gibbs have been dreadful for the last month. Kreuzer has been up and down.

This.

one thing i've noticed over the last 2 games is that we've been out-muscled too easily. we don't have the body size to be the dominant side in the competition. it's probably too late to address that for this season. looking forward, i expect big changes to the list at season's end.

I have always wondered why we pick players such as Duigan, Rowe, Curnow, Armfield on our main instead of rookie list when no one else wanted them.

We could of then added more kids to our list

Easiest way to find out who is what on our list is to get a proper coach in.
These guys wont respond to Ratten.
Kreuzer/Gibbs etc... theyre guns!!!

Dangerfield wasnt much last year....under Reilly.

Adelaide are a good side coming off an 8 day break to our 6 day break, I wasn't giving us much of chance all week.

That said there is no excuse for continually being beaten at stoppages. Don't think we need to go into panic mode just yet though.

Plenty of areas that need addressing but I believe we can do it. The list and lack of good depth is whats worrying me the most at the moment.

One thing that doesn't change is the will to win and a team effort.

When individuals work for one another and sacrifice individual possessions and glory for the overall team ethic then results usually fall into place.

It hurts to say it, but I do agree. Look at Grigg ... Not a star but so much better under a new coach. Russell showed us 2010 what he coul be, now he is not even VFL standard. Something is just plain wrong. Crows turned it around and so can we. We have a list that can challenge fo the flag, we are waisting this opportunity. I can't stand the thought of another 5-8 years of rebuilding. It does my head in.

Could Ratts be our Grant Thomas, without the people management skills?

Just back from a day out and so disappointed but not surprised. We have serious issues that must be addressed on and off the field. The response so far to the on going challenge has been so poor. Will or skill? Probably both.

Did you Patrick Dangerfield there?

Hang on guys despite the drubbing there is an upside. We have saved the opposition forward scouts heaps of time, effort and money. They no longer need to attend our games to see how we set up. They simply sit at home and watch Essendon*, Stkilda and the Crows dismantle us.

The only thing I know is that I have sat through all this sadness all those years, all those smashings at the G and at Docklands, supporting my team, telling myself it will turn around. I went to all the games. I was convinced we will have sustained success and a couple of flags with all those draft picks.

I f@&$)($& not done this to see one flower final in 10 years in Melbourne last year and then already going backwards. I am really angry. Just not good enough. We are not managing our players. I knew we were in trouble when I saw them do all this media and being so focused on their bloody hair cuts.

I've given up getting upset about it, it's not worth it. The players don't hurt, why should I? Life's too short. Get more joy out of watching my son play under 9s than watching the Blues these days.

So the club is saying Murphy has a sprained AC Joint.

Whose responsibility was Yarran not being subbed on today when Murphy went down?

Today was the angriest I ve been at the footy since the Denis Pagan days... In fact, the pathetic effor in the last 3 quarters reminded me exactly of how we played under Den Den... No heart, no commitment, no communication, no leadership, NO BALLS!!

Bloke on twitter said this and I have to agree.

"You don't work hard coz you like your boss, you do coz you have good work ethic & pride in your effort. Ratts or not, our boys don't have it"

Was wondering the same. The incident happened near where I was sitting

Murph was never going to come back on

I am sure the Crows kicked 2 red time goals just before 1/2 time to put the nail in the coffin

Exactly...
What got us all through those dark years, sitting in the outer and watching teams like the Saints, Dockers and Hawks tear us a new one week after week, was knnowing that one day, our young kids will grow into men and the Glory Days will return...
Here we are 5 years later, and we re still copping 70 point beltings on our home ground....
Feeling badly RIPPED OFF!!!
