4 points banked. Thank you very much. Winning ugly is better than losing any day of the week. The draw opens up a little for us now reckon we could go 8-2 rd 10.

Jammo better tonight. The run will do him some good and he should be better again next week.
Hendo is really developing into a great defender.
Walker makes our forward line look so much more potent. He was very clean tonight.
Very Happy with the win.

This. Eddie in the midfield was brilliant in the third.
Welcome back Walks.
Five changes worked too. Brave MC.

Well done Blues. Rack 'em up. Enjoy it. Learn from it. Move on.

Really good, gutsy win with an undermanned side, away from home and on a short break - have to be happy with that. Just about makes up for last week. I think that most, if not all of us would have taken 4-1 after 5 and that's where we are.

Nice that for once, we made the most of our chances and the it was the opposition that was wasteful.

I may have overreacted in the match thread....though it does concern me how we fade out so often, it's an almost weekly occurrence......we need to play 4 quarter football consistently week in week out to reign supreme in the comp.

In the scheme of things, a win away in Perth against a Freo team on the rise, with 3 big injuries and walkers first game underdone, got to be happy with that.

Footy is seriously hazardous to your health.

rd 1 - 7.4 to 2.2
rd 2 - 7.6 to 2.2
rd 3 - 3.3 to 1.2
rd 4 - 6.1 to 3.2
and finally coming off a short break and a trip to perth and making 5 changes
rd 5 - 1.1 to 3.5

not sure of our "often" fade outs.
To me, we are one of the fittest sides in the comp

Doesn't always happen in the last....we switch off during games far too often....Richmond rd 1 let them back in, last week in the 2nd quarter, tonight in the last....happened many times last season. If we iron this out we will win a flag no doubt, but I'm not at all convinced our players have the mental strength required.

We will be flying fitness wise when we get to the saints game. Training loads are carefully managed with the fixture in mind. Most teams will start a heavy load a week or two before they play GWS. Bombers certainly were loading up before they got to us & pies. We will taper off after gws and be fit and firing for the next month. Just a theory but it is something i am really watching this year.
Didnt think we would win tonight though.

Great win.

we licked our wounds from last week, re-focused and got the desired result. Many things to work on and a few players will be rested next week as part of our player management strategy

Tbh now that we've beaten freo away I'd be disappointed if we didn't win our next 5 considering our draw.

@ Ryan Crowley if you want to grab jumpers all night suggest you take some lessons from the Collingwood Cheer Squad and spend the rest of your life in Target and you can grab as many jumpers as you like.

This. We should play Geelong only one loss down, and really, we should be able to beat them.

Toinght sets us up to go on a run where we should be aiming at being 9-1 when we come into the Cats game.

Quality performance from Walks for a bloke back for game 1 this season.
Simpson, Scotland and Henderson superb down back with the ball as was Gibbs.
We created and took enough up front to have the solid lead we needed heading into the last break.

Take it and move on to next week.

1 week at a time people FFS.
This happens after every win, calm down. Lets focus on GWS and GWS alone.
Getting ahead of ourselves last week got us where? a belting at the hands of an inferior team

ahhhhhh F#$k it
we should be 21-1 and ready to smash the e-girls in the first final
Play Judd and Murphy alternate games for the rest of season
rotate warnock hammer and K each week

The Judd holding the ball decision late in the second quarter is one of the greatest travesties of the night - Judd takes possession of the ball with one free arm (as Crowley already ga possession of Judd's other arm  ) - then Judd gets pinged because he manages to break clear of the illegal tackle.

Seriously where is the so called protection for the ball player Gieschen????

and didn't it show in that last quarter.
what does a visiting team have to do to get a fair go late in games over there?
becoming a real blight on the sport

From official AFL site:

SUBSTITUTES
Carlton: Lachie Neale replaced John Anthony in the third quarter.
Fremantle: Kane Lucas replaced Zach Tuohy in the final quarter.

Not sure why we subbed him. I though Anthony was one of our best.
