Geez that was Gold. Loved when they showed that ugly Joffa on the screen slumped back on his chair and we all jeered him.

Ps. I was yelling out that Swan was fat at the game cause he definitely appeared to be.

Hats off to Carazzo, as I sometimes am a Critic of him, he was fantastic tonight.

Maybe Swannie is off the (diet) pills?

who was that really slow bald bloke running round with the dodgy shoulders and crook groin
he looks finished

I copied this from a Collingwood forum in response to a criticism of the same person....

FAIL [again!]. He wanted the ball for four quarters and got it. Had we secured him in 2008, we be back-to-back premiers, and sitting 3-0 right now. We can slag him off all we like on this site, fact is when he is up and running, we have no stopper for him. Never mind, most other clubs don't either....

Don't know where we'll be in a months time... don't know where we'll be in 6 months time

All I know is I feel mighty fine right about now :smoking:

The alcohol in the Lindsay Hassett room went down well... before, during and after the game

Was thinking of you cimm, and really happy for you. Looks like you will be singing the song all the way home eh? We had a train carriage singalong on the way home tonite. Lots of fun. Even the Collywoods couldn't help a grudging smile.

Not leavin just yet your BGness. Another 9 days in Vic including a pants removing ceremony next sat for jimmy and the boyz. Didn't put a lot of thought into the itinery basically two games of footy separated by 8 days of sundry activities.

Looking at the side on paper before the game, I was thinking that Armfield might be the most likely person to make way for 1AW but was super impressed with his performance tonight. He is just toughness and persistence personified. Looked gone for all money in the 2nd quarter but even managed to get a kick when trying to hobble off.
Here's too you Mr Armfield. Cudos.

Read it as you wish.
Carlton don't care to prove anything to the outside world.
We're under control.

I'm sorry, but is that American English? :?

What can be said that hasn't already been said? We had a 22 man effort tonight for (verrrry close to) four quarters. Some of, if not the very best footy the Club has produced in a decade, regardless of the opponent. Big stage, everything to gain, all eyes on us and we made a very big statement. Tackling intensity, pressure efforts and one percenters right to the final siren, smooth transitions, no nonsense professional footy delivered with frightening precision. The Filth never had an answer and never looked capable of it.

Felt like the Twilight Zone tonight - we just did the '11 Collingwood on Collingwood, and a new dawn is rising. It's only early yes, but if we maintain this level of skill, speed and team cohesion, we're a certainty for top 4, possibly top 2. From there, this gameplay could see us pull an '08 Hawks and take a flag a year early. Our intensity and whole-team work rate tonight will hold up to any challenger. There's something special brewing down at Visy. I know it and you've known it for years, but now...now we really are coming. Commentary tonight said it best - a group of talented players, all around the same age and all peaking together - this is the premiership team we've spent a decade building, and the time's now. The window is open. After so many years in the wilderness, I don't really know how to feel...I'm waiting for the rug to be pulled out, for me to wake up and realise it's all a dream. I'm beyond impressed and bursting with pride right now and feeling the love big time...really feel like we're witnessing history in the making. Our top tier players are either elite or on the verge of eliteness, our second-tier are standing up and being counted, all our cheap buys are blooming into golden nuggets, villains are becoming heroes...and with more players to return, what's not to like?

It's times like these I'm thankful my Dad (and most of my family) was born in Carlton and I was indoctrinated into the fold. Real thankful.

Did I mention we f**ing smashed the Pies?! Unbelievable on paper, unbelievable on the field. What a great night! This one's going straight to the pool room. Football pornography, thank you Blue boys!

Seems the Pies of '12 under FIGJAM like to play what we call "bruise-free footy".

Not to mention a total lack of accountability in midfield. Swan et al hanging off the packs waiting for the soft receive while our boys were carving them up in the clearances.

The much awaited midfield battle was a merciless slaughter.

I loved this comment from the Pies forum:

Quote:
It's a pretty sad reflection on our midfield & it's setup that Luke Ball led our clearances with 4 despite missing the entire second half. Our midfield reputations took a battering tonight. It will be interesting to see how or if they respond.

Absolutely amazing game from Scotto tonight - was my BOG. Considering the week he's had, it was a very gutsy performance mentally.
