I think that certain bays are allocated to certain clubs and then any left over seats go in general sale.

Would it kill them to add something whereby you can select which level you prefer? I don't want to sit ground level, either, but for the first 15 times thats what I got, then Great Southern Stand top, then Olympic top, then back to ground level, then back to Great Southern Stand, then back to Olympic. I'd lost patience by then and chose that.

It wouldn't kill them, it would just force them to invest a bit more in their site.
God forbid Demetrispew would actually listen to the punters at the expense of Ticketek's profits.

Ticketek is the worst to try and buy tickets on. I hate it how if you don't like what you pull up you get completely booted out and have to start all over again entering barcodes etc. As sean mentioned you also can't select by level which you can on Ticketmaster for Etihad.

I'm in M13 :)
First time I'll be watching a match from ground level. I guess we'll be closer to the action, but wouldn't have a very good view to the other wing.

Is this reserved seating? I just grabbed one GA ticket for someone, and it didn't nominate a section.

They never give an explanation for the categories on Ticketek, so I'm always scratching my head for the other finals aside from the GF.

Yes, reserved seating. It would want to be for $82. :yikes: However it is possible to buy a 'walk-up' MCC pass for $72.

This may sound like a weird questions Eddie, but what browser where you using. Was it Google Chrome.

I too got timed out after I'd entered bar codes and credit card info. I copied and pasted it all from a doc so it only took me about 2-3 mins when you are supposed to get 8.

My brother meanwhile got thru and got tickets but I went back to do a bit of experimenting.

I found that as soon as i entered the tiketek page the time clock started straight away, before I did anything else. Once clicking the ALF link and then the relevant game etc the clock was still ticking. Even if you get the "website has heavy traffic, will re-try in 5 seconds" page when it finally got through the clock had been ticking all along. This meant that by the time you got into the actual tickets allocated page after entering bar codes, but before credit card info, the clock may have been down to 2 minutes, or less, depending how long it took to get there.

The clock should start as soon as you see the seats offered but it starts much earlier and if you have trouble getting through, you may eventually get through with not enough time left to complete the transaction. this also happened to me last year, where i got timed out after about 2 minutes on the page once i saw the tickets offered.

i'm interested if anyone else has had a similar experience and what browser they were using. I'm not sure if the browser is relevant (as it seems bizzare that it would be) but I have a feeling that it may refresh in a different way.

Question -

One of my mates would love to come but he's a bit strapped for cash lately (his mother went round the twist and its cost him dearly...long story short), so every cent counts for him at the moment. He was turned off at having to pay $40 for a concession AFL members guest pass, so I thought that I'd buy a junior guest pass for $15, and he pays the $25 difference at the gate.

I feel guilty for not shouting him the whole thing, but I've had my own financial strain lately...

Are you able to pay the difference on a ticket at a ticket box on matchday????

Fair enough, thanks mate.

I experienced this problem the first time I put in my barcodes as well. The timer was down to 1 minute 30 seconds already. But after seeing the seat allocations, I decided to try my luck for different seats.
I am using Firefox by the way.

heard a bloke ring SEN this arvo and said he went to a ticketek outlet (not sure which one) but he was alotted number 35 in queue and was still not served by midday so he walked out and will try tomorrow! :hitcomputer:
I understand that some people don't have internet access and some people prefer to choose seats rather than accept whats alotted to them, but the advantages of booking online are far greater. I got seats in M12, and was done by 9.10 using the iphone, so simple and effective
