He should, Sydney

I haven't seen the incident, but my immediate reaction was, "how stupid can he be?". He continually finds himself in trouble.

You'd have to think that if he's found guilty it would be two weeks. He must have more points than Clooney in Up In The Air

It BS but with the expected crowd going to exceed the capacity of the ground the AFL does not want to see thousand's of people being turned away at the gate. Especially being a Friday night game with most of the crowd arriving at the ground within 30 minutes of the commencement of the game.

They're selling seats behind the goals in the social club area to the public.

Are these the seats usually reserved for Carlton members? Wouldn't be the first time Docklands have sold seating allocated to the CFC of course.

It's going to be a big game, even if it's totally irrelevant.

They are usually walk up seats for social club members.

Quote:
Captains Club Members
There will be no general admission or match day walk-up area available for this match. A Captains Club reserved seating area will be available at Etihad Stadium between Aisles 22 -26 on Level 1. Reserved seat tickets for this key seating will go on sale through Ticketmaster at 9am on Tuesday 9th of August and will be available until 5pm Wednesday 10th August, unless sold out prior.
- Adult/Concession Captains Club Member - $7.00
- Junior Captains Club Member - $1.35

Captains Club Members have the option of purchasing one guest pass ticket. This must be purchased at the time of booking your reserved seat through Ticketmaster Guest Pass prices for Captains Club Area are:
- Adult - $45.00
- Concession - $37.00
- Junior - $11.35

So basically social club members had 2 days to buy tickets in the area before it got opened to the public.

Have often struggled to understand what this even means. "Fully ticketed" could mean a range of different things. I was of the understanding that if you have as much as a GA membership and it entitles you entry subject to capacity, then you can get in if you got there early enough.

Have played it safe and booked a standing room ticket...but not happy about having to cough up more money on top of what I already paid for an AFL membership.

I generally book reserved seats for Friday night games regardless if it looks like a sell out or not. Normally by the time I get there after work it's right on game time so this way don't have to worry about finding a seat etc...

Also an AFL member with social club upgrade and have sat both on level 1 and level 3 closer to the front and really doesn't faze me either way.

No biggie as far as I'm concerned. Still get access to botht he social club and AFL members bars also.

Looking forward to Friday night!!

Actually, i think behind the goals is usually for public sale.
The Social Club seats start an aisle further on.
They weren't sold to the public.
I remember a few years back they were though..and they had some very lame excuses as to why that happened at the time.
Doubt they'd try that again.

The reason I gave up my Social Club AFL upgrade was that I used the SC area for the 1st time against the Hawks on a Fri night game. They smashed us by 90+ and I had to listen to 2 non stop Hawks wankers sitting in the SC area. It used to be a donation really because I never used it before or after that day.

Whole ticketing system is a joke.

i don't have a big problem with it being a big game and needing to reserve a seat (other than it should be at the G), but what is utterly ridiculous is the way they release seats.

They have about 18 different on sale dates for different categories of membership. They say bays are sold out, then release more seats.

Sell rubbish seats and then release better ones at the same price category.

It's a joke.

Sure, I have mine, but still... makes me not feel so guilty using a myriad of ticket scams throughout the year to secure reserved seats for $2.50...

-Try to anticipate which games will be in demand early.
-Suss ot when tickets for your particular membership goes on sale.
-Log in on the day and get some.

No point really complaining about how it used to be. This game has a big demand and needs to have allocated reserved seating. End of story.

The point worth complaining about is that it should be being played at the G.

I'd really love an explanation as to why we'd be playing our home game against the Demons at the G while playing the Hawks at Etihad.

We'd only draw approximately 40k more people to the Hawks over the Demons, and you wouldn't have to have been Nostradamus at the end of last year to suspect Hawthorn and Carlton might be in the thick of finals come round 22 this year.

Stupefying on so many levels.

The frustrating part for me is that they could easily have swapped the Round 24 game with the Saints and this one, as no tickets had yet been sold for the Round 24 game because it was only fixtured a few weeks ago. Saints would be happy, best fit

Friend of mine can't make it to the game, said he will sell his seat for $30 (yeah he paid nothing for it but still not bad). Top deck, between half forward flank and forward pocket (aisle 14) front row.

PM me quickly before he tries ebay
