He has recovered from an ACL. 2 hours in a plane isn't a big deal.

I didn't necessarily say that was a reason to play him in the AFL, just something to consider - I don't know if travelling is ideal for his recovery. But to balance it out the Metricon surface might be better than the Etihad surface

You are right. it is a consideration.
but he's either ready for AFL or not. I think another week of Bullants footy would be better. Ratts may not agree

If Merrett is gone, should be a goal fest for the Blues.

Doesn't matter if Brown kicks 10, because we'll kick 20 (actually more like 12 goals 20 behinds) but it should be a one way pasting.

Might be a good week to bring in Hendo or Kruise without having to worry about Merrett jumping into their backs and legs after a mark...

From the article: "Given his side's fortunes Merrett may have played his last game for 2010"

I dare say this is correct.

Are level 3 General Admission seats good? It's my first game at Etihad with General Admission tix. Where's the best place to sit guys?

Thanks

I don't mind level 3 at the Dome. Obviously front 10 or so rows are best, on the wing, but they're often reserved. I've actually sat behind the goals on level 3 there though and didn't mind it. IMO, anywhere on level 3 towards the front is a good view.

Great idea.

Sends tingles down my back.

What about both?

Kruezer should go to Arizona and do those high altitude training for 3-4 weeks, then he will be absolutely mighty fit for the finals.

WOW.

I wish Sir Dick Pratt was still alive to see what we're missing out on.

Or, he may see them as getting an advantage on us....to beat us.
That would be unheard of. Us non competitive? Absurd ...he'd help get Kreuzer and Judd and co now..and just before the finals.

With Merrett out, it's the perfect time to bring Henderson back into the side.

Couldn't hurt.

There's also seems to be some concern with Waite getting up this weekend from what I've read this morning in The Age.

I think we need to take a conservative approach to our man management. I don't think we should be resting players but if we need to ask the question "Is x right to play?" then I say we err on the side of caution and not play them. We are in a marathon not a sprint and don't need to push our players especially when we have players who are match fit and able to play seniors footy. When Yarran was not quite right we gave him the week off. I think we should have done the same for Russell as I didn't think he really stretched out last week and Waite should miss this week with Hendo up and firing. Geelong does it, so should we.

What happens with Zach this week?

Surely he deserves a decent shot - but who's spot does he take? And we have to consider also that he only played a qtr and a bit because of the substitute. So would Bower be better to bring in?

As much as I love Setanta and i reckon he's gone allright this year - if Warnock and Kreuzer are fit then i could see them both coming in, probably at his and waites expense.

The MC will earn their money this week that's for sure.

Henda in for Waite being the only change this week.

Zach to get a full game with Armfield sub.

Would definately bring Henderson in.

More so to thank Voss for what he took off our hands, and how our 2 sides are moving in opposite directions, thanks partly to his stupidity..

+1

FFS, what's the rush with Kreuzer, anyway? Hammer's in good nick, Warnock available, Carlos holding his own, Hendo going OK for the Ants, no Merrett. Great opportunity to increase his workload in the Ants and have him fit and firing for the Swannies and Weagles, a couple of challenging games. One more in the Ants for mine, though I'm sure they'll pick him on the extended bench just to keep us all guessing.

We can always throw Hendo back if Clarke or Browney are having blinders, too.
