Interesting lack of key forwards. Maybe a good chance to give Austin and Watson a chance up front for a half?

Touché. There goes my plans for Dare. :(

Does anyone know if they will be having a training session at MO at some stage tommorrow?

Club website lists that there's an open training session tomorrow at Visy @ 11.30 AM, and there's been no info to suggest that it's been cancelled (last confirmed on the 21st).

No doubt we will be refered to by the media as a "full strength" Carlton side, regardless of whether we win or lose.

I've got to say it....where's McLean??

Fair dinkum, I believe I'm a fairly patient person, but....the only other people I can tell who won't have played after Saturday are those who have had major surgery. How much cotton wool is needed?

TAW, I think most of us supporters need to come to terms with the fact that Brock will probably never be an effective footballer for our football club due to the condition of his body and what appears to be a lack of necessary attributes required to play the modern game as it is today.

It was a poor recruiting choice exacerbated by a bungled assessment of the trade value needed to acquire Brock's services from the dees. We can only take some solace from the fact the we redeemed ourselves so greatly with the Fev trade.

Ok, you're right.

So...deep breath......I accept......I accept......I accept....it's about swings and roundabouts.

That's better. Thanks MB.

I’d like nothing more than to be wrong about my take on Brock. The theory used to justify his selection is sound, just that he is probably not the right candidate.

I’d love him to be the midfield brute he was for the dees around the 2006 season but since then he is consistently showing a cycle of injury issues and regular displays of not being suited to the current fast-paced, zoned pressure with is inability to burst away from contested situations. As Abbott would say I suppose, “Sh!t happens!”

I wouldn't write Brock off yet.
Yes his recurring ankle/knee injuries are a concern however he has trimmed down, reduced his training load and is still only 24yo.
Being an excellent endurance athlete the club probably thinks he doesn't require much "match fitness" to be ready for Rd 1.
Many people had written off Luke Ball who was a valuable player for Collingwood last year - and he is 2 years older than Brock.

Or, he's been held back since the intra-club like Houla & Carrots... there's a reason for this that has little to do with McLean in isolation.

He informed the twitterverse yesterday that he was feeling a bit sore and sorry for himself.

MMMM interesting. They advertised on the CFC website that you if you are a member then you get free entry. Also, a friend rang ticketmaster yesterday, and was told that all they had to do was swipe their membership card and there would be no issue with entry......

That's what I thought too. The person at CFC said categorically the NAB games are a separate process

I can confirm it was in a training context. ;)

Seemed like he felt as though he was going backwards with his fitness, but that's just his opinion and the training staff may have a different view.

Apparently there is a meet and greet with the players at Eastlake tonight (for any Canberran's or people travelling up here).

Does GWS membership get me entry?

Yes, I was wondering that too. But after spamming me heaps during the off-season they have been very quiet this week.
