sj, how do you think we'd go in crowd/member terms if we played a 'home' game vs crows or Port at the Adelaide Oval. Would we nearly sell it out?

Yes but ticket prices have been traditionally lower in SA, so there's not much money to be made.

Not sure how much tickets are at the gate over here. I get freebies

If the Blues played Port at Adelaide Oval, yep it'd go very close to a sell out.

They got 30228 at the game last year, which was 7000 more then average. In fact apart from the Crows game, the Port v Carlton game had the highest attendance for a Port game last year. 600 more then when they played Collingwood.

The Crows unsure. Harder to get tickets, so hence why fewer Baggers go, but it'd still sell out. HOWEVER Carlton still pulled the THIRD biggest crowd for the Crows at AAMI stadium last year. Just behind the Power game and behind when they played Geelong.

The club website is saying that we are ahead 3,000 from the same time last year. Interestingly there are 14,000 2010 members who are yet to renew.

So it cost us $366 to get into the game at Manuka Oval for "free" today.

+2 more 2011 members to the list.

WC and Freo numbers are probably high because don't you need a reserved seat at Subi to get in? So you would renew/sign up quick smart to ensure a seat.

As I understand it that's pretty much the case, and the same goes for Adelaide who appear to be missing from the list.

According to the thread, Adelaide haven't made any announcements but are only believed to have 'limited' available.

But what worries me is how we compare to other Melbourne clubs. We may have more than last year, but IIRC we were competing with Essendon* and Hawthorn only a couple of years ago (with the filth well ahead of everyone), and leaving clubs like Richmond and StK in our dust. Now we're behind all those guys, and we can't keep using Fev as an excuse (interesting how many 2010 members are still yet to sign up). Something ain't right.

It's not just us either, Geelong's low numbers would be a worry for them too.

I'll be more interested in how the figures sit by round 4.

I guess I should buy all those memberships I normally do, just to boost the numbers by another 30 but.......something aint right.

Whose spruiking the club in the media, who is embracing the supporters, who really misses me and my bundle of memberships?

I don't mind lining up and buying tickets as long as it's an hour before the game.

I had my cousin up here in Sydney on the weekend and they haven't bought their tickets (another 6)... and they did so religiously over the last 20 years and with unseen before passion during the dark ages. In fact, they like me put our name down to sponsor players a couple of years ago and our offer hasn't appeared to be welcomed...no one has contacted us. I say @#$%&! 'em if they don't want my money or don't want to communicate with me.

I really don't want to give the current regime any satisfaction TBH. They are so proud of their effort thus far with all the improvements they have made (ha ha...Pratt did that), they don't care about former members. We'll survive as long as we can control the debt, and speaking of debt, no one from the board let alone the President has mentioned what they are doing about the debt and have allowed the media to paint a negative picture about my club's finances, which just says to me that they haven't got a plan to promote, or they continue to ignore the concern of their supporters and former members.

They are so average since Pratt passed away.....imo

So I guess I'm going to buy my tickets in the morning. It actually seems like we're on the right track...something feels right.
I just hope our public image improves from our on field success so the sponsors line up and pay the debt.

Got my membership card a week and a half after ordering it. This has to be some kind of record!

I think our membership levels should be tracking higher, using other clubs as a measure, as well. Especially given it's actually a pretty optimistic list to follow these days.

Did people's scarves come in the same pack with the rest of their stuff? Got the pack today, but no scarf.
