Did Chris Judd come up with this new slogan because he is sick and tried of carrying all the passengers on his back week in week out...

The path we have taken with our past slogans has resulted in a lot of discussion and free publicity for the club. SEN played the new slogan ad at least 5 times last night to try and generate some talk back. The best thing is that the club did not have to pay one cent for it. Currently we get more free publicity than any other AFL club whenever our slogan is released.
Now the hard bit is to get the 50,000 members we are targeting.

Judging by others clubs' slogans for next year, it's not easy getting it right. Ours is punchy, feisty, and it's exciting to LEGITIMATELY get on the front foot and make some claims to the season. Jimmae is right when he talks about hard work, unity, and no excuses. Go Blues!

CARLTON: "No passengers"

COLLINGWOOD: "March to October" (hhmm, I know they mean 1/10, but it sounds they're looking forward to the post-season trip already)
GEELONG: "It's in our DNA, is it in yours?" (inbreds of course have the same DNA)
HAWTHORN: "Hawks united" (just as well they got their delisting out of the way before this one)
MELBOURNE: "Let your Demon out" (better than 'let your mongrel out')
NORTH MELBOURNE: "Ignite" (explode?)
RICHMOND: "The Tiger is stirring" (..aaaannnd back to sleep. Nothing to see folks. Move on)

Wow, the Geelong one is bad and the Hawks one just plain dull.

I was just thinking that. Media get very excited about our slogans for some reason and create plenty of discussion and publicity around them.

How many people out there are still bagging our slogans from last year and 2009 (and this year)? Plenty.

How many other clubs slogans from past years can I remember? None.

Because member voting rights are useless!
Because your boardroom is a hand chosen boys club!
Because your communications dept is archaic!
Because your membership dept is shambolic!
Because you arrogantly treat grassroots members with contempt!
I could go on...

I share your sentiment. But you have to be member to vote out the duds. There will be a quality challenge at some stage, surely the current situation cannot continue on for too long. You have been here long enough to remember that it was the voting members you finally kicked out Smorgon.

I just rang the membership dept as i had to make some changes to my membership and while on hold (not for too long) i couldnt believe it when one of the recorded messages was "can you smell what the Blues are cooking, become a 2010 member now". Honestly you would think they may have changed the message for next years slogan.
Not good enough.

They cannot be seriously, with Kernahan as the president, the board half filled with wannabe, selfish, opportunistic duds, add to that Ratten the senior coach. This is got to be a joke !!!

That is a great ad in my book. Keep that guy as the voice of carlton .... alah John Meillon for VB. What I like about the ad is that is communicates the hardness that we have missed for ten years. I don't want to smell what's cooking I want to smell linament and body on body ...... cut the softness out of carlton and we will all sign up .....no passengers

Sticks' boys club are rorting the process by continuing to bypass elections and just appointing their chosen ones.
Remember Harrison on here last year verballing Spartels for having the audacity to run for election and in his words 'wasting $50k of the clubs money'??
It's the Elliott way of doing things all over again!! ...I'll streak around PP if there's a nomination this year!!!
When someone's willing to ditch 'appointments' from the constitution, I'll join up and vote for him.
In the meantime why don't they fix the glaring deficiencies in the Comms and Membership depts???
