Yep, probably the best draw we could ever receive. Happy with that.
Like the round23 bye as well. Gives us time to freshen up for the premiership assault!

Two twilights and a Monday night. (Wish the AFL would scrap both concepts)
Otherwise ok.

Wouldnt be counting my chickens just yet if I were you hotty.... We've been prone to drop the more 'winnable' games in recent years (eg. losses to North, Freo (at Etihad) and Sydney (at Etihad) this year)...

The thing I dislike about this is that Collingwood will unfurl their premiership flag in the Round 3 game against us!!!!

Love it. best fixture we've had for ages. Love 18 games in Melbourne. Love 9 and 9 split between etihad and the g. wish it was 5 etihad and 6 G, but we just have to live with that for the time being. good that e have a bye after round 8 even better that we have a bye in round 23 with one more round to play before finals. particularly after a trip west. Love that most of our travel is out of the way by halfway a well.

yep. i'm happy

i'm not one for "we should pencil round x in for a win" etc. there's no way of knowing who'll be hot, and who wont, just yet. As Peter Dean once said, we always aim for the top three. (the double chance as it was back in his day)
and that should be our aim next year also. Go Blues!

That's alright. As long as our 1970, 1979 and 1981 flags are there to accompany it.

I think it's more a case of when we'll be hot, and when we won't. Case in point, 2010.

Only team that doesn't have to play the Premiers.

Sydney at the SCG on a Friday night is a very difficult proposition. Why aren't we considered a big enough club to play ANZ??

Partially because the Sydney market has been left to Essendon* and Collingwood to plunder, and Carlton isn't seen as a big club up here, frustratingly.

they will sell that game out - It will be interesting to see if the NRL schedule a game at the SFS that night

It could be total grid lock around Moore Park - 40k at the swans - 10k at the League

I'll be walking to and from Bondi on that night.

Great draw...very happy.

With that sort of fixture surely Hyundai or whichever potential club sponsor has the greatest offer would see the value in that.
There's enough there to plan for the club to write off the $7M debt; I'd like to see that. You know...functions in Melb, raffles, better sponsorship revenue and of course we will be a more mature team...and of course our destiny...GF's and Flags.

But who'll kick the goals??

There will be plenty of goals following for the Carlton FC in 2011

Going to book flights to Qld and Syd.
Hopefully the AFL Membership department will at least look after those wanting to go up and watch their new team.

Looks like being an AFL Member will be one of the most rewarding seasons in 2011

Fair dinkum if the club isn't driving hard for top 4 next year they are passengers.

I don't think Ratten is the coach for it though. Time will tell.

Is that what the debt currently sits at? I know not the right thread for this discussion, but...Melbourne managed to wipe out their debt in 3 years and ours is still $7m?
