I think Malthouse is a super coach, maybe the best going around. But at 58, its not the direction we should be heading for a senior coach. If we are to poach a big name, I'd favour Roos.

Yep...have heard similar things BV, although moves are still made by Mick on gameday, this flag was largely driven by the Buckley/Neeld combination.

I was listening to Alan Richardson talk tonight at a football function I attended. Out of the coaches he's been involved with (Kennedy, Matthews, Shaw, Frawley, Eade, Rohde, Malthouse, Knights) he rates Matthews the best.
He also confirmed what I've heard from other assistant coaches that Malthouse is virtually a football director already. Buckley, Neeld, Brown and co do nearly all the training and strategic planning.

I'll give Malthouse credit, he's parked his ego to an extent and allowed the younger blokes to drive the club to a premiership. He's smart enough to take the credit when it comes along.

Why anyone would be naive enough to want him coaching Carlton is beyond me. Collingwood aren't moving him along for no reason. Past it. If you want a new coach, look to the future, not the past.

Yep . I highly doubt Malthouse was the scientist behind THAT gameplan. Buckley wasnt there when they really started using it mid last year.
Neeld is probably the man behind it. Ripped off Ross Lyon and added a bit of Malthouse.

So we will be in a situation in 2011 where we will have :

A premiership winning 'super coach' at Collingwood,

A glamorous but yet to be super coach at Essendon*

An OK but neither a glamorous or a super coach at Carlton.

So I dont think that that situation will prove to be a very stable one for us..

Especially if we have an average to below average kind of year.

The thing is of course is that the Magpies and the Bombers have already put their bets on the table..but we havent..

I advocate exhausting every possible avenue in getting this crazy old snake over to coach Carlton.

He does talk alot of shit, but if this madman can coach that scum club to a flag with the list they have got, he could create a dynasty with Judd at the helm.

If we secure Jabbour as president, Malthouse as coach along with already having the Messiah as captain, well my Carltonian friends, that is the Holy Trinity that will take this club onto new heights of success.

Do we have the balls to make the changes?

Do we want to be successful again?

Are we prepared to do whatever it takes like the Blues of old?

If the answer isn't yes to all the above, then we truly have sunk to Richmond like levels.

Forget about rules, just do whatever you have to.

Tamara Jabbour as president?

C'mon Vin, I'm sure we can do better.

Even Tamara could do no worse than what we have now.
