Well there is no arguing that Smurph is delicious Lulu.

Here's a stat for you, of the top 25 for disposals Murphy (17th in disposals) ranks number one for goals with 28, which is 5 more than Ablett and 13 more than the next best.

If he were to get a gig in the All Australian it certainly would be in the forward flank positions or even forward pocket. He's probably competing with Stevie J, Chapman, Akermanis, Higgins and Goodes.

agreed, i dont think he is there, but if he maintains this and improves over the next few years (which im sure he will) he will be in the elite category.

has been fantastic this season.

IMO Smurf is already elite.

Catch him if you can.

May crack the 40 goal mark this year.

Crows smash he and Judd whenever they go near it. Part of the way they play us.

His hands look stuffed. Tape all over them. Looked like he hurt one again last night. His ball handling is off which is messing with his confidence.

Terry Wallet on SEN virtually called Murph (and Stevens and JUDD) down hill skiiers. Is there a bigger insult in footy than being caller that by Wallet??????

Nothing virtual about it. He actually called them downhill skiers - used that exact phrase.

To paraphrase an old saying:

Those that can - do; those that can't - commentate; and those that can't commentate - coach Richmond for 5 years and take them from 2nd last to 3rd last and piss off both their supporters and everyone else's supporters.

Is there a club that this idiot is actually welcome at? (Not Hawthorn or Footscray from what I can gather.......)

He was talking about Saturday in particular.

It's hard to argue with what he was saying.

My biggest problem with Murph is that he tends to go missing when we play badly. When the team is playing well, Murph will usually be starring.

To use a cricket term, he's a bit of a flat track bully.

But, he is quality and I expect (and hope) he will develop a more rounded game in future years.

He's had a great year Murph, and I am sure he will have many more in the Navy Blue, but his defensive game needs improvement.

..mids dont kick near 30 goals a game being overtly defensive.. ..seems to be his role to run ahead..

Yeah, that's a fair call. And the attacking side of Murph's game has been a massive plus for us this year.

But for three quarters against the Crows it was clear the opportunities to run forward and score were not going to present themselves as often as we might like. In 2010 and beyond I hope Murph is able to add to his undoubted talents by improving his role for the team when we are under the pump like that.

Not his best game on the weekend but has had a terrific season. Will go close with Judd for the club best and fairest. Excellent year and has really sharpened up his foot skills as well, really blossoming into an elite player IMO

I am so glad Murph chose to stay in Melbourne and play for a Melbourne club rather then go the father/son route and play for Brisbane. Very, very happy he is ours. Hopefully he will continue to show Brisbane what they missed out on Sat night.
