I have watched the footage Doctor, and it doesn't look good at all, it must've been even worse to see it happen before your eyes. No doubt it shocked and angered you a lot. I noticed the first to arrive was Betts. I remember in the doco Betts was in it so he must be quite good friends with O'hAilpin. Fevola looked pretty angry about the whole thing giving O'hAilpin a big shove. It's hard to tell what other players reactions were like but it's good to read Simpson's. Not sure why he isn't in the leadership group. Was an excellent stand in captain.

I take it the crowd around you were all pretty displeased by the goings on. How did the players seem to respond to the incident? It was good seeing Cloke having a bit of a laugh after the game.

The punch is one thing, but the kick could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Not a god move.

Not to diminish how bad's Carlos' behaviour was, but surely something like that doesn't happen without some sort of provokation.

Carlos may be on his way out, but let's not lynch him until we hear the full story.

Definitely the club needs to be strong. They dealt with Angwin swiftly, and gave Norman ONE chance to get his shit together before giving him the arse. The club has made it clear there is no place for flower-wits here, so he has to go.

It kind of looks like Cloke to a semi-swing first, and I don't think it would be curtains for O'hAilpin if he'd just whacked Cloke. It's the kick which will do him in.

I reckon it was Grigg shoving him, not Fevola.

Just seen the footage now. The kick itself looked like more a tap on the arse than anything else, but still, the act itself is worthy of a flight home (at his own expense).

Agree. There's something more to this. However, no excuses for Setanta. Kicking is not on and his days seemed numbered.

I loved his passion for the jumper and his will to succeed but that's all gone down the shitter.

Shattered.

FWIW - I think Melvey made a reasonable point...... then reverted back *snip*.

Doc, as someone with a communications background, you would be well aware of the fact that this is only an issue at Carlton. Ratts stated his opinion and in doing so bought the club enough time to handle the situation by giving the media what they wanted early - a comment from a senior public figure at the club. Sending a suit out to the waiting scrum would do nothing.

I know its been a while since we've been able to talk football, but lets not let this become a fan beat up. Its a dog act with no grey area and the leadership group will deal with it accordingly.

You're forgetting the kick while Cam was down. Look - I'm not fussed that you disagree...it's just that I expected more from our Communications Manager - I wanted a written statement - one that cut out the crap and just says it like it is.

I'm not unhappy about the Ratts interview - it's incredible that he was able to stay composed - because behind closed doors, I very much doubt he would be.

Melvey - can I ask you this - do you think Setanta should stay at Carlton?

You'll find it on Fox Sports, but no doubt the news networks will be showing it in their updates.

I think Don meant Foxsports on Foxtel (on tv). I went to the Foxsports website and there are no video footages as yet.
