The official word from the club is he has scans satday and will see a specialist monday morning in regards to rehabilitation.

This not from the club but a friend of Bannos. With the initial surgery it was advised if there be recurrence most likely a shoulder reco. The option was put forward to have a shoulder reco.

On CSC, DOA said that the staples had come out of his cartledge in the shoulder. Its not structural hence no reco, yet, but will have to operate anyway.

Walks should know more when he sees the specialist.

If there is something positive to come out of this its the following:

Besides another player getting a chance to fill Walkers position, it means we get a boost half way through the season when Walker returns.

Over the last few years I think we have missed getting an injection of enthusiasm when we needed it. Walker will give us that mid way through the year. So its something to look forward to.

Get well soon!

I've just read this thread, are we sure DOA's comment are responding to the one about 10 - 12 weeks? Both were posted at 9.37pm and DOA could easily have been typing while the other post came on line.

I'd like to think he was responding in agreement with MarkNo3 regarding people immediately thinking the worst. I took it as him saying to MarkNo3, thanks for saving me the effort, rather than yep, Andrew's out for 10 - 12.

Good luck with your recovery Walks, hope it's a speedy one.

I think Joe Anderson will take his spot with both hands.

That's a different view on the situation. Even moreso when we consider how young this team is, and the effect the wear and tear of a long season will have on them.

I like your perspective Swan.

All the best Tex and lets hope that the injury is not as bad as first thought.

A dam shame. If used correctly he could be in the top 5 at the club in my opinion. Make sure he's not back until he is 100 per cent right this time.

The length of the rehab wont be fully known until the Specialist says so Tomorrow, so how did we come up with 10-12 week thing? is that confirmed?

Things are never as bad as they seem or ever as good as they appear,

So before we write Walker off for half a season, lets all just wait until we get the advice that comes from the specialist after he (or she) has done their tests...

The 10-12 week "thing"came from me.Quoting Andrew after his scans were looked at Friday afternoon.Having said that, we can only wait until he has his op this week.He is home at the moment and says it is" not feeling too bad".Hope this update helps, and I will provide more on Wednesday for you.
Regards
Rob Walker

If he's out for half a season he's out for half a season. Walker is 21 not 31. He has 10 years left at the club, and that's a minimum. He is going to have a glorious career if he is played where he should be, on the ball, in the midfield, using his pace and athleticism into our forward 50. Whether he's back in round 10,12, 14, 16, 18 or 20 doesn't matter. Just make sure he is fully fit and there is no chance of the injury recurring again. And that applies to all players.

Thanks Rob , you're a breathe of fresh air and your valuble and rare insight is a treat to us fans here.

All the best to Andrew once again - I for one cant wait to see him tearing it up again with his trademark agression and run and carry down the wing.

Sincere Thanks

I think that 10 to 12 weeks is probably going to be a worst case scenario.

But I do think that it is quite likely that the worst case situation will not occur.

This is terrible - a real kick in the guts on the eve of the season.
I hope he has a good recovery.
He seems to be a very determined young guy, so hopefully he'll be back bigger and better than ever.
We need more AW types.
