We won something and Collingwood didn't.

OOPS! That's two positives.

Positives

1) Setanta has been superb... i honestly was a doubter but so far he has proved me wrong,.... great work

2) Murphy , every game he does something that makes me watch in awe, he will be a champion and i really think a brownlow medallist one day

3) Waite as long as he doesnt kick the footy... must improve his kicking. His athleticism and spring in defence is very very handy, but sometimes i think he tries to take too many people on and does too much.

4) Russell... it was only a few weeks ago i was worried about what the future held for this bloke and whether or not he would make it. He has shown a bit and i hope he can be part of the young brigade that will bring us our next premiership. Beautiful goal on Sat night

5) Cloke - I was the first to say i dont want him and i wouldnt cheer for the bloke, BUT you have to love the effort and the thing i love about him is that he knows his limits and his role. Doesnt try to take blokes on, gets it on to the runners and blokes that can use the footy

i know stevens got BOG but i think the positive for me out of all of this, is was last night, everyone had a role to play in our win.

from santy, waite, thorton in defence
murphy, stevens, jr, carazzo in midfield
fevola, betts, fisher up forward
cain and cloke in ruck

everyone had a role to play, and now we have a side that is able to constatnly do their role.

we are quickly becoming a side that isnt reliant on just one player and that is the best position we have been in for sometime.

Nick Stevens finally displaying the form he had at Port that had me so excited when he came across. Now I'm excited all over again!
A mate of mine reckons Murphy has the same swivel hips as Paul Meldrum used to, and that's what gets him through traffic so well. I think he has something there...
Our back half is going great guns. :-D

Bret Thornton....was the backline general and helped Santy double team Brown.
Nick Stevens.....good four quarters and worked hard.

Brad Fisher...been critical of him but he marked and finished of his work well..

Cain Ackland..not a fan and I thought Wood had the better of him early but Ackland lifted his work rate in the second half and was better in the ruck than in previous weeks.

Jordan Russell....did the job on Power and kicked a nice goal...

Josh Kennedy....didnt have a great night, dropped marks etc but never gave up and I like his second and third efforts...crashes packs and gives us some grunt and I thought for effort he was worthy of a mention...

No real obvious great games, a solid team effort from all involved. Everyone did their bit when they had to.

Fish kicked 4 straight. 3rd tall nightmare.
Big Irish dominated Brown for 7/8 of the match.
Gibbs isn't running the midfield yet like so many thought he would.
Murphy chose us.
Cam Cloke keeps making everyone look like bloody idiots for bagging him when we got him, as well as Mick Malthouse.
In each game we've faced difficult positions - Hawthorn got off to a flyer, Essendon* kept coming in Q4, Kangas up by 37, Lions surged a few times - but we kept them at bay. MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE PRE-SEASON - learning how to win. We've done that.

We beat teams that finished higher than us last year.
