If Kennedy is injured he should be rested. It's just a wizard cup game. This is a crucial year for Kennedy, not in the sense that his position on the list is under any threat or he needs to step up, (he will be a gun and will play for us for 10 years at least). It is a crucial year for Kennedy's development as he has an opportunity to play Centre Half Forward with no pressure on him. This will allow him to really get a feel for the position and provide a platform for development. No need to risk him for a NAB semi final.

And for those that are truly disappointed, we get to have a look at Harts at least..

Just think about what you just said Barak. Think very simply. you said:

* Dont worry about resting a player for this weeks game because overall his long-term career at Carlton is more important.

* Said player is very likely to have a 10 year career for us a CHF

* In his absence we have another youngster, deserving of a go, who could be pretty good as well.

HOW GREAT IS THAT!!!

No more filling in with stop-gaps, no more having to make do with tradees and retreads, just

YOUNG QUALITY PLAYER (abit hopeful) for YOUNG QUALITY PLAYER.

Damn im excited about the next 10 years.

All Roos on Gold Coast telly this evening. Heath Scotland bobbed up for a brief, " Kouta's looking good. Must be all the dancing pre-season." The jouirnalists and the public they love that. Article mentioned Hale likely to be out.

I got six reserved seats and thermos ready.

Kennedy rolled his ankle at training today. Hartlet to possibly take his place.

No idea. He went for scans. I don't have a result at this time.

So not only do we have to win, but we also have to kick more than 12 goals to host the final. Given that we've kicked "bags" of 11 and 10 so far, combined with the predicted torrential downpour, it could be an ardous task, to say the very least.

Although one has to wonder whether the game will be played at the GABBA, less than a week after a Pura Cup game has been played there. And Carrara? Don't think so.

Find some Holden driver, put a Blues cap on him, and shit, watch the memberships soar!

...till the memberships department realise on Monday they were all done through stolen credit cards.

Cos the V8s aren't running at the GP this year, mostly due to the TV rights for the V8s going back to 7, while 10 retained the F1.

Is SEN the only radio-station taking the game tonight? There's still no radio coverage showing on our game at afl.com.au

Also interesting spread on the afl.com.au Poll -

Which of the four remaining teams will win this year's NAB Cup?
Brisbane (1810) 29%
Carlton (1337) 21%
Kangaroos (1506) 24%
Geelong (1661) 26%

Break the (1661) 26% into the remaining three teams and it's now
Brisbane (2364) 37.44%
Carlton (1891) 29.94%
Kangas (2060) 32.62%

Or, if you give Geelong's votes to the other Victorian teams, then it's
Brisbane (1810) 28.67%
Carlton (2168) 34.33%
Kangas (2337) 37.01%

Where is wolfister and his stats? What does he reckon?

Nothing to do with TV rights at all. Bernie didn't want the V8s anymore.

Maybe 9JS is headed in the same direction as 22CC, 7JD, 4LL, 21TL, 20CM, 28IP, and 36TS ... I mean, 21TL was recruited in the 2005 draft and was axed at the end of 2006; 9JS was recruited in the same draft and, due to injuries, hasn't been seen much, but now he's raring to go (by his own admissions) isn't getting a run (although with the newbies of 3MM, 4BG, and 5JK that's not surprising, especially with only one stat in his name by 3/4 time, and that was an FA, which is also a description of what he'd done to that point .. unless, of course, you get points for keeping the bench warm) ...

heheh .. I'd agree with "bondiblue", too .. nice av, Hoggy! Very "contestant on Graham Kennedy's Blankety Blanks" / American High School Year Book, esp with that porn tache (speaking of taches .. WTF is that, "bnz"?]

At 4.30 pm local time, I'm looking out over my back porch at the Carrara lights just warming up, so I thought the TC punters might be interested in a pitch and weather report...

The ground should be in top nick, as it usually is. We've had a week of showers, but Carrara' surface is as good as any in the AFL, and it will be just about perfect tonight.

We may get a little rain later, because at the moment it's overcast and humid. But there's a bit of a breeze too. Overall, I reckon it will be a good night to showcase the greatest game on earth.

Geez people, I can't wait.

GO YOU BLUE BOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

The V8s were lucky to get a run in the first place. That's why they never raced for points. The drivers and teams were keen on the idea at the start, but the cost for doing any repairs (and it was the Holden drivers that raised this) during the season was too great given the lack of return.

They had flagged the idea of racing for points, but F1 are very protective of their brand and did not want anyone getting equal billing. Its Bernie's way and what he says goes. It sounds a little too matter of fact, but its a reality.

ON the other side of the coin, you have the Indy cars (or CART - I can't remember which one it is) who are well aware of the fact that they would get @#$%&! all people turning up if the V8s weren't on show.

But, we digress..... GO BLUES!
