Best talent in the draft, can't remember another CHF with his footy IQ , Kicking skills and work ethic in over a decade.

We could have Tony Lockett but if we can't get the ball into the F50 it's a moot point.

The best talent in the draft is Rankine by a mile.

Yeah I’m pretty keen on rankine tbh. We need some X factor

I'd go Sam Walsh - solid production machine with outside speed - not the flair or X-factor of Rankine but we're already supposed to have that with SPS and Pickett - both of whom will improve dramatically with a better functioning midfield.

Plus I'm a massive fan of drafting Victorian boys with our first pick unless there's a clear standout - and I don't think there is in the top 6.

Just concerned about Walsh’s kicking. Not that I’ve seen a lot but it’s pretty ordinary from most reports I’ve read. We’re really lacking outside class and guys who know where the goals are

His kicking was elite during the carnival, no problem there. Tough choice between he and Rankine, be interesting to see which way we go. Provided we keep pick 1.

Lukosius and Charlie together in the sane forward line will be devastating for oppositions defences for the next 10 years.
As trades and free agents join Dow, SPS, O’Brieb, Kennedy, Lang, Crippa, Ed and Murph, the ball will get down to the forward line plenty, where Charlie and big Luka can do the damage in the air, and Pickett and Garlett can do the damage if the ball hits the ground.
Watch it happen.... in my dreams lol

Yeah, but really how often does the no 1 draft pick actually turn out the best player? Hardly ever. Riewoldt would be one. Maybe Goddard. There aren’t many. I think there’s just as much chance of one of the king’s or Walsh or rankine or someone else ending up the best from the draft. If we could turn pick one into 2 first rounders (with one of them being top 5 pick) I’d do it. Double the chances of getting a star.. and maybe even get two of them

Either way, we’ll get a gun.
But so will the other clubs with early picks.
It’s why free agency is so important and we need to snag a mid ... or four

Anybody considering the possibility that SOS will trade the number 1 pick?

To be honest, im away a lot so have no idea of the talent coming through but it's supposed to be a deep draft (dont they say that alot?)

Adelaide have two picks inside the top 20 - currently 8 and 13. Going off the AFL Draft pick Value Calculator, Pick 1 is worth 3,000points. Picks 8 & 13 are wroth 2,673points.

Or - alternativly, would Adelaide do Pick 1 for Rory Slone (who's probably gonna try and leave anyway) and pick 8?

Id take that in a heartbeat. Especially if we can't get Gaff.

I think it’s a definite possibility for the right price.

Adelaide (unfortunately, as I’m sick of dealing with them) and GC would be the ones most able to pay up, especially if Sloane and Lynch piss off.

Sloane born March 1990. Will turn 28 before season 2018. How long will that body of his perform at the highest level which was early 2017 prior to be tagged out of games?

He's a beauty ...I guess it depends if he's willing and who we have in mind for pick 8.

He's a FA.

Forget Sloane, too old. We are better off targeting an up and coming 22yo.
But I would like to see pick 1 traded for 8 & 13 plus a PP from the AFL. This will then give us some serious bargaining power with other clubs to fill our midfield.

Couldn’t find the Father/Son thread.

But for those interested Oscar Judd is debuting tonight at half-time in the Auskick.

Waiting for Bec to post the highlights on her Instagram.

Apparently Bec was the goal umpire - so we might have to wait for Juddy to post his video.
