The game is at Marvel, which may as well be on Mars for Richmond.

I did the ladder predictor for the first ever time and I hope I'm wrong as I have us finishing 10th on 11.5 wins.
Cerra is a huge loss. Equal second most clearances and second most metres gained Friday night. From 40% game time!
Dow is a fair replacement but he's a large step down in class and consistency. I suspect injuries to our midfield group are going to prevent us making it. The club would be foolish to play either Walsh or Cerra within 3 weeks of the injury.
Walsh concerns me because he is coming off back surgery which may make him more susceptible to hamstring strains. We need to get it right from the start.
Hopefully we can jag a second win because 2 should get us through but the competition is tough. Besides St kilda, the other teams are playing good footy.

It's going to be tough but I reckon Gold Coast will drop their next 2 games (Adel & Syd, both away). Meaning they'll be cooked by the time we play them. So I think that's a win. Then we need to win one or hopefully both of GWS/Saints.

Interestingly Walsh said at his half time interview that he'd be having a run on the weekend.

Hopefully we get through because I believe the Blues can do a bit of damage with a bit of luck on the injury front.

While it’s certainly not set in stone, the equation seems to me to be get to 12.5 wins (2 more) and we’ll most likely make it. Given our percentage is pretty good and all the teams around us are playing each other in the run home, a bit would need to go wrong for us to miss with 12.5 wins. 3 more wins would absolutely guarantee our place in the 8.

For me, this weekend’s game is absolutely massive. We win and 1/3 will probably suffice with each of the 3 remaining games being tough in their own right. Dees pushing for top 2, Suns up on the GC which has been a brutal venue for our club and a rejuvenated GWS at home. We lose this week and 2/3 is starting to look a bit difficult.

Injuries hitting us now are such a shame. With Cerra, Walsh and Harry fit, I’d be reasonably confident of winning 3/4 (if not running the table) given the form we’re in. I will say our winning streak certainly appears to be more system based than personnel based given we’ve withstood injuries well so far but with the margin for error so narrow it’s not the time to be 3 of our best 7-8 players down.

STK
Melb Walsh back
GCS Cerra Harry Kennedy
GWS

I continue to believe we will remain undefeated.

System Confidence Selflessness

One week at a TIME. Have to win this week.

STK - Pray we can win
Melb Walsh back - Kennedy more likely
GCS Cerra Harry Kennedy - Harry won't get back until finals, suspect Cerra won't be back for GCS, Walsh back in for this one
GWS - Cerra returns if we need the W

STK - Pray we can win, Sure, but I'm not worried about Saints. Not one bit. Shouldve beaten them when we weren't playing well too.

GCS Cerra Harry Kennedy - Harry won't get back until finals, suspect Cerra won't be back for GCS, Walsh back in for this one

Harry will surprise, again. He had a slight strain
Walsh did his hammy (slight sprain) on Sat July 22. 3 weeks later is Sat Aug 12.

Even if you bump them out a week, I expect all to play GWS in prep for Finals. Agree we might no have to call on Cerra.

Therefore for GCS we should have Walsh Kennedy, and I'm expecting Harry too. That will be 5 weeks since Harry had the arthroscope.

What I'm getting at is we will have players returning from injury over the next 5 weeks, then a rest before the Finals.

At least we've got all our half forwards on the park. Sounds strange but I actually think we'd be more susceptible if they went down, than the current midfielder crisis we're having.

Fogarty Martin Cuningham Owies Motlop are all making life easier for the entire ground, not just the forward line.

This thread....

Sheesh.

We just beat - convincingly - the two teams on top of the ladder.
From outside the 8.

That's happened a lousy 9 other times in history.

And peeples are sweating on the misfits we face ahead?

gimme a break.

One way or another This team is playing in the Grand Final this year.

What they do on the day is up to the day...

but they WILL be there.

Get real, we're not playing the Grand Final this year.

Our opponents will be too scared to show up.

Players to come back from injury/suspension based on the worst case range (assuming they don't die in the meantime).

St K - no one
Melb - Boyd
GC - Walsh
GWS - Cerra, JSOS (Cook said 3-4 weeks last week), McGovern?

I'm putting a ? over McKay and Kennedy because there's been no real update since their original injury.

Boyd would be handy to cover for McGovern, I wish we had him for St Kilda instead of S Durdin.
